I watched the video, how is he anything like HHG? He has some fans that he makes videos for, he looks like your average gent.
But if this makes devs/pubs think twice about releasing digital, then it isn't beneficial at all. I'd rather have untradable dirt cheap digital games than no digital games at all. This is an absolute worst case scenario, however, and if it could somehow benefit the industry and the consumer simultaneously, I'd be all for it. None of the major digital distributors (except for GMG) have spoken up about the possibilities here, so I don't know how it'd actually work.
Do yourself a favor, save your tears for another day. Don't watch it. It'll only hurt.
I think that if Steam did implement some used digital game trading system in the EU, they'd also try to implement it elsewhere so as to not look like selective pricks.
I doubt Origin would be able to implement a trading system for used digital games without it breaking, but Steam already has the base for it. Steam Trading, you can trade people TF2 items and other such things (I think even giftable games), they would just need to adapt it to be able to trade used digital games.
I don't know how I feel about this law yet, if this were to destroy digital gaming then I say nay. I like my digital games.
The game has nice graphics, but the art style is rather uninspired, like they ripped off a few dungeon crawlers and medieval movies and put it all together.
The complete lack of any good story telling was an immediate negative, the world they fashioned was immediately pointless when there was no character development. It's an RPG, shouldn't there be character development? A little?
The quests, the guts of an RPG, were sometimes great, amazing, in fac...
Not entirely true. Overall form is better, form as in how does the game handle? Is it buggy? Does it have a decent story? Is it fun? If it handles like poop, is buggy, has bad story, is not fun, but has great graphics... let's just say it isn't a redeeming quality.
I don't know, Steam might. They're open to experimentation, they've already got the Steam Trading base for it. And they value their customers, imo. So they might go for it.
@below. No bubs. Anyways, Origin won't do it because they like keeping control over their customers. Steam's sales would considerably drop if they implemented this. They'd have to get their economist to research the possible outcomes.
You heard it here first, folks. No June contest.

It doesn't have to be a complete copy, it could be different in little ways that add up, so long as this wouldn't piss off fans at all.
It would be cool if they kept the original music, but also offered a secondary soundtrack. So you could choose between the two. The more goodies the better.
I'm not sure either, what's the point of making a ruling but not enforcing it? I don't get it. I should have chosen a Law course for uni next year, damn.
I'd play it in a heartbeat.
Apparently they don't have to, at least that's what the article states about midway through.
A great thing about PC gaming is that you get to play all the old-gen games. I missed a lot of those, so I bought a lot of those :P
I've had a PS3 for a long time, then one day I got a gaming PC. I play my games on my PC a little more, but it's because I have more games on my Steam account from winter and summer sales, etc, so I try to finish as many as I can. I get exclusives on my PS3 that my PC obviously can't run, so it's a nice balance. Sometimes I get two versions of the same game so I can play with buddies on both systems, watch out for that, that'll drain your wallet fast.
What does that little face beside it mean? I'm not good with internet faces :S <-- except for that one.
Come the Steam Summer sale I'll be able to say, "I've participated in DayZ." Can't wait...to die a lot.
Really? I'd like to try this, the features sound great.
First of all, I could care less if you hated one of my submissions, really, it's not the end of the world for anyone. If you don't like him, that's fine, I never said I liked him either, just that he's no where near as bad as HHG. Second, I don't know him. Third, I'm really not hating, honest, I was just asking a question of you. I don't have any idea how you derived hate from my above post. Also, don't derive hate from this one. Just making a statement. Thanks...
