I know, right? Anywho, from what I've seen here it looks like a reskin of black ops, which is expected and should naturally be the case. However, there were no new "features" in this gameplay video. By feature I don't mean killstreaks, killstreaks are a feature, so something entirely new and original is what I mean. The gun sounds were all very similar, comes as no surprise though.
Every blog I write, I seem to stop at about 500-600 words without being able to add much more, by that point I feel I've gotten my message across.
Congrats to all who won, you did good, even if a computer was the cause of your winning ;)
Let's forget about EA for a second and think about what the industry's definition of "innovative" is. I know ours, or at the very least, mine, is an original concept never before seen in previous video games (exclusive to that form of media). However, claims of innovation from publishers and the like can be used to half-lie to gamers. Think how Battlefield 3 was supposed to have epic destruction 3.0 (as in never before seen levels of destruction, ever) due to Frostbyte 2, bu...
Yeah, I loved AC2's story, especially the secret video you get when you collect all the feathers, damn that left me wanting more.
I'd rather a CGI trailer than a live-action trailer, as I think live-action trailers tell us nothing about the game itself. How can you compare real life to a video game? A CGI trailer has potential to tell us the stylized details of the game, but I think they're mainly used because the game wouldn't be finished at the time of announcement, it would be ridiculous to expect them to have working gameplay free of bugs and glitches and graphical hiccups.
You can loosely see the the structure of a story being built throughout AC1 and AC2 (I haven't played the others). I say loosely because where the story is going, no one knows. But if they develop it enough in AC3 then I can see it being very interesting. I think they can do it too, look at the story differences from Portal 1 to Portal 2.
Thanks for clearing that up. Unfortunately, class action suits are the most effective, so if Valve is ever run by a tyrannical tyrant of tyranny, then they have one up on us.
I wonder why that spider lady is naked. I hate gratuitous nudity in games, I'd rather nudity be used as a plot device or with some point behind it other than to arouse the human senses. Perhaps there's some point to it though, we shall see.
HL3 simply isn't canceled. Valve just has the development philosophy that it's ready when it's ready.
The lighting on the world map caught my eye :)
Indie means independent developer, a developer without a publisher to fund their project. Just because they sign with a major distributor (Sony, Microsoft, Steam) doesn't mean their not indie anymore because they aren't actually being funded money for the project's development, they're just trying to sell their game.
Regardless if the game sells millions or if the team is small, they are indie if they don't have a publisher.
I actually don't play sports games, I used to, but I'd prefer to play other games. So maybe that's the one genre I don't play? Lol, I'm sure there are a few more obscure ones as well.
Fun, fantasy, and freedom. Fun goes without saying, and the only games I want to make are fantasy, I can be more creative like that. Originally, I wanted to make a fixed story like the Final Fantasy games, but then I watched this, and I thought about the game I want to make, ...
I don't mind any genre type, I'll play them all, so long as they bring something original to the table. Yeah, I'll get caught up in the Battlefield hype thinking it's innovating, when really it's just a high gloss FPS game.
Really, I think stories need to be told, there's too much multiplayer. I've been watching some films from Takashi Miike (although the two I've seen are remakes) and they tell amazing original (technically) stories in 2 hour...
I loved Assassin's Creed 1, and then loved AC 2 so much that I platinumed it, but I'm simply not interested at all in Brotherhood and Revelations (even though my little brother has them).
However, I can't wait for AC3, I'm really hoping it makes sense of the loose story.
Apparently, blaming games as the cause of such horrid events is still acceptable. Doesn't society always tell us to take responsibility for our actions? How hypocritical.
Add the /s so users know..
Yeah, that's highly skilled sure, but the outcome is cheap.
That's not at all what he said. Because the servers are being shut down, it would be impossible to get any of the online trophies in a reasonable amount of time.
However, if the trophies were enabled for all who owned the games, it would make the trophies that those got before virtually a waste of time. Even though, imo, trophies are literally a waste of time anyways.
It's too limiting to exclude women as enemies (or killable beings) in video games. Kratos murdered his wife and kid (a young girl) by accident, that's quite saddening.
It has a point though, it's what caused his anger toward Ares for tricking him. To have the player feel further sadness for Kratos they could have allowed us to play that scene out, it would have had a greater emotional effect on the player. God of War is an M rated game, so there's no reason w...
I'd rather they continue developing multiplatform games.
