Actually while I agree with you that the Samsung series 7 is great (seeing as how I also have a LN46A750) first knight is correct about the lack of input lag with plasmas.
Even with game mode on our Samsung's, there's still about 33ms of lag. It can be argued that it won't be noticeable, sure. But the problem is that game mode settings cant be reconfigured, so you're stuck with the game mode picture quality (which isn't that great and has a weird blue push)

Plasmas in general do offer great picture quality, even at 720p resolution.
However, one of the cons of Plasma is that it's not nearly as bright as LCDs. So if you watch in a bright room, Plasma might not be the best choice.
And yes they do have zero input lag which is pretty important for the hardcore gamers who want instantaneous control.

You see here's the thing, most of the anti-blu-ray people have never truly experience what Blu-Ray has to offer in terms of Audio and even Visual. They go on and on and on and on about how Blu-Ray sucks or is not needed, when they have a cheap 720p TV.
Or the other case where they do have a nice 46" and up 1080p TV, but lack of 7.1 surround sound configuration. Which to me is 50% of the blu-ray experience. A properly set up 7.1 sound system can sound alm...
