Nintendo should of done it like Valve. Publish the fan made games sell it and give some profit to the creators. That is what Valve did with counterstrike.
If Nintendo makes a traditional console then yes, you are correct. If Nintendo decides to make a hybrid system (handheld mixed with console), then Nintendo stands a chance.

Hopefully after this No Man's Sky fiasco no more or less false advertising in games. False Advertisement is a crime in the US. But gamers are either unaware of their legal rights or let the media control their opinions or worse are afraid to stand up against corporations for doing anti-consumer practices.
In the US any form of advertisement cannot lie in regards to its product. For example a car that advertises it features smartphone locking door mechanism. The car must have it, same as what people eat from the menu. False advertisement in the videogame industry needs to stop. Is a US crime and apparently in the UK is illegal as well.

We keep buying remastered games and kick new videogame franchises or ips to the curve. There is more demand for Mega Man, a new Zelda game, a new Metroid game, a battlefield game than say a new ip.
