Agreed. The closest thing was Test Drive Unlimited though that had been gone for so many years. Thankfully a new one is coming out though it's from a different team.
Australian? Are you sure? I'm asking because I'm looking at a bunch of reports right now and they all say it's exclusively UK-based outlets. Even Pure Xbox didn't get a code on time. Which one was Australian?
Why is it bad for a game to let you play how you want? How is that suddenly a bad thing?
It was only UK outlets, right? Doesn't really come across as cherry picking. I'm curious what the reason behind it is. I know they have the acquisition going on in the UK but I don't know how that would affect reviews.
Yeah the cockpit view is usually far too narrow in racing games. I remember the one in NFS Shift being pretty much perfect though.
@Deus
Agreed.
@Frampt
No one said it did.
@Charlie
A bit irrelevant considering Profchaos specifically mentioned "day 1 player base". Typically game sales are only ever reported as sold through.
Bethesda "shipped" 12 million copies of Fallout 4 for launch day. Shipped does not equal bought.
Wow I never even thought of trying that. It makes sense though.
Damn. I was hoping it was the original open world F&F game that was cancelled. That game actually sounded cool. This is just an Xbox version of the Tokyo Drift game. Still cool to see though.
It's genuinely hard to take your criticisms seriously when you complain about not being able to land on Saturn, a planet made of gas. From what I understand the only planets you can't land on are exactly that, gas giants. Which makes sense.
"Video games aren't going anywhere"
That doesn't mean it's sustainable. Most devs are overworked and underpaid. This has been a problem for a long time. But we're now at the point where these people have to spend years in crunch just to get games out the door. Then if that game fails that single failure can be enough to put that entire studio out of business.
What about that sounds like a sustainable career?
The NMS comparisons are a bit misguided. NMS has massive planets which is cool, but if you try exploring the whole thing you're going to notice the procedural generation very quickly. The same structures, the same mountains, etc. NMS is still a good game that's come a long way, but it's procedural generation is far from perfect.
I'll have to see how it all works when I play Starfield but I can understand why they took this approach. Traditionally procedural ...
Fallout 76 was unfinished and had some pretty dumb decisions regarding no human NPCs, sure. But it's clear they took the feedback to heart and really listened to what people had to say. Fallout 76 has drastically turned around over the years and it has a very active community. It was a wake up call for Bethesda. One that they clearly needed.
Yeah that's the thing. $200 for just remote play. That's such a terrible value proposition. $99 to $125, sure, I could maybe understand. But for what they're charging it's just not worth it.
I get that, but I'm saying that putting them under a gaming brand doesn't make sense because Audeze isn't a gaming brand. It would have made more sense to just put them under Sony itself. PlayStation could still use their tech/hardware.
"Just offer streaming solutions, but design as if they were only going to be played on console and PC."
That's what he said, and that's what they've been doing.
Hmm. Audeze is a good brand but Sony already have a great audio/headphone business. Seems a bit odd to buy another one and place them specifically under PlayStation. Audeze isn't a gaming-focused brand either.
Yeah he's probably a really good fit for Gears.
Ah, SkillUp didn't get one? That's surprising. He usually puts out some very comprehensive reviews. Not quite as good as ACG but I do like to see what he thinks of a game. I guess because he's a YouTuber sites just don't count him because he isn't technically an outlet. Weird either way.
@RauLeCreuset
Because it doesn't make any sense. Why would one specific region be blocked? I've never gotten the impression that UK outlets are historic...
