CPU has a massive influence on frame rates. Anyone who plays on a 144hz monitor knows this. Going beyond 60fps into the 90+ region you'll understand why high CPU clock speeds are important.

That's the impression I'm getting seeing all the disagree's.
Too many kiddy Sony Fanboy's downvoting as if their life depends on it. haha that's N4G

Here's the thing. I hate Nvidia as a company, more so in the past year and half, but they make better hardware right now. I buy what ever brand better suits my needs.

I'd happily buy the next AMD card that kicks Nvidia to the curb, .. I'm waiting at the moment though

@ nowitzki2004

What BS. Man I have a 980ti with no reason to defend AMD. But you have no idea what you're on about. The power consumption difference is stuff all and even less in a dollar value - US$10 in a year! lol. Do you know how much my overclocked EVGA 980ti Hybrid pulls from the Wall ? 400Watt overclocked!!!
Do you know how much I care? ZERO!!!!!

Who buys a performance car to worry about fuel efficiency!?

AMD have anything but better drivers.. unless you define 'better' as soon not needing to log into a 3rd party app..

3153d ago 3 agree1 disagreeView comment

Because no one wants to be held hostage to install it just to get game ready drivers.
A lot of people don't like GFE because it launches about 3 startup operations, is a heavy, unnecessary for many people and dials nvidia your telemetry and spies too.
If you enjoy using it , that's fine. I actually use it, but I don't want to be told I have to sign in to any 3rd party app just to download drivers for hardware i already paid for.

Sure.. it means 30 fps right?!

@ Enigma_2099

You do realize this isn't even Alpha footage..

It's pretty obvious the characters aren't finished. They are showing off the environment's detail since as mentioned in the video.

@ DarkOcelet

Yes it will. I had 980m SLI and it ran well. The biggest problem with this game right now is the CPU bottleneck.

Here's and old video I did of it running on the older 780m SLI with the CPU at 4.5Ghz. Still ran pretty well though. 980m SLI will chew though it.. but don't skimp on your CPU

I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Speak for yourself

I'm enjoying a lot too. I've done about 3 hours worth. Visuals look great but the sound effects and soundtrack is what impressed me the most.
It's not as hardcore as the BF series but I don't necessarily see that as a negative.

Pc for me. Can't believe how badly consoles are struggling already.

This is the game I'm most pumped for this gen. That trailer was so good I've watched it about 10 times. The lore seems great and I'm liking CDPR's ambitions with this story and open world.

Half Life 3.. confirmed :)

Well the other major alternative is NVidia PhysX and I don't see that working out well for any of the consoles.

It's definitely taking along time. Most people who have bought in are happy waiting if it means it's going to be a good game.
I've bought in and don't mind waiting as long as it's necessary for them to achieve their vision. It's a big idea, if they pull it off it's going to epic. If they don't pull it off, it will suck but at least they would have given it their best.
So far things are looking great and their community communication is excellen...

They pulled those recommended specs out of their a$$ like they always do.

Basically and cheap as$ GPU from the past 2 years will run every game at 1080p 60+ fps

Been here for 5 years. Still so much to see.

They will still gain in 4k reads which is anything but being saturated, even on old Sata 2.
Sequential reads will get bottlenecked as you alluded to..but that only affects large files like movies or game installs. The rest are little files that will still benefit from speedy seek times.
