If you play Shift on max settings full AA and ASF at 1080p at 60+fps... well its almost like night and day which looks better. Shift may have a TON of flaws but the graphics (at least on the PC) are stellar. Even though overall FM3 will be a better game right now I am finding NFS Shift more fun than the FM3 demo.
I still don't get how there is a debate. FM3 looks great... don't get me wrong... its just when I see videos or screens of FM3 I instantly know its a game. When I look at screens/videos of GT5 I can barely tell if its a game or real life. FM3 looks like a video game, GT5 goes beyond that. Something about FM3's color palette and just overall looks does not convey realism as well as GT5 regardless of pixels or details.
The fact that the was actually handled in a mature way is pretty impressive... as were the tits.
GT5>Real Life. What people fail to realize is that this is not CGI, GT5, but rather a demonstration of what PD can do with their tech. This is GT5's engine putting out those images but its not in game or using the game's replay function, its some outside program. Could the PS3 render that video, probably. But thats not the point the point is that the fidelity of the graphics in that video were so amazing that if GT5 looks sat 20% worse it will still be utterly breath taking.

Ok I am going to finish this. ANY and ALL conjecture on GT5 is just that, conjecture. At this point we know next to nothing (that is 100% confirmed) about the title. It could have tons of things and it could have less things. But we just don't know. We know a lot about FM3. This is how I feel about Shift as a GT/Forza fan. All in all its a fun game... worth a long rental maybe a used buy.

A solid review. Seems to hit the middle ground which is without alienating the casual and the hardcore (me). I will probably still rent this to make sure the driving physics are good enough for my GT, FM, GTR, LFS standards.

Whatever, all that matters is how it affects the car, and FM2 did a great job at that. UI looks really good as do the environments.
This game has never had an official release date. The only thing that has ever given a definitive release date is a slideshow at some convention that said 2009 but PD and Sony both said that was an inaccurate listing. Lets just say when you are Sony largest, highest selling franchise you better get things right.

Just to be sure I think I am going to rent this game. While it looks like it could be fun... something tells me the whole x-games, XTREME!, right on!, stuff is going to get on my nerves. Also I am an avid Richard Burns Rally fan so just about anything else feels unrealistic. I hope I find it to be good.

I do not know what the sales of the GT3+PS2 bundle were (I bought one), but a bundle would really boost sales for Sony. Honestly 2009 has not been a great year for them. You can slice it and dice it any way you want but compared to the competition the PS3 has been not really excelled.
