Actually if you play a game like Devil Survivor: Overclocked you can get over 5 hours of juice out of the 3DS. Granted, there's hardly ever any 3D in the game (all I can seem to recall is the opening and the fusing of demons cutscene thing).

Couldn't say it better myself. I didn't like Mass Effect 2 and thought the story was absolute shit, but you don't see me preaching about the downfall of gaming. It just didn't click for you. Move on.

Finally, a list I can agree with. Glad to see UC3, Batman, and Portal 2 garner so many nominations. I even saw Ghost Trick and The Witcher 2 in there. Very nice list. The only thing I strongy disagree with is LA Noire's nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Story and Sound Design, which Portal 2 deserved.

Anyways, here's the weight of nominations:

(12) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
(10) Portal 2
(09) L.A. Noire
(07) Ba...

3.9 million for PS3
1.6 million for PSP
0.5 million for PS2

I'd say these are more than pretty good. They're on a roll. They'll easily make their 15 million mark by the end of the fiscal year. Impressive job. It'll be interesting to see Sony's NPD numbers to see how much America accounts in those sales.

I disagree with this assertion. MGS, Silent Hill, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, the God of War collections, and Prince of Persia have all been great... if you're referring to region 1. UK is a whole other story. Those box arts are terribad, that Classics HD banner they've been pioneering over there is hideous. I'd actually print off my own cover just so its shabby design didn't stand out in my collection. They are god awful. Over here in the West, they actually look quite ni...

Tell me, did you even understand the story? Because I have a hard time believing people can hate on UC3's but love UC2's. We all know UC1 had the best story, but UC3's was so much better than UC2's. I'd ask you what was wrong with the dialogue, plot structure, character development, parallels, subtext, or any other narrative device but I doubt you'd know what I'm talking about. It's easy to say its story sucks.

I could say the Hurt Locker had a...

I don't know why anybody would disagree with you. I bought Bayonetta on the 360. If lead development is on the 360, I'll pick that version up. If it's on PS3, I'll pick that version up. Unless of course the other version is magically better somehow, which rarely happens when porting.

Ah, I see. But just so you know, Project MelFes was disbanded, but members went on to work with the Tales studio in general. Some of the staff had worked on Symphonia, Dawn of the New World, Abyss, Destiny, etc. Some even Xenosaga. Tales of studio should really not be considered split anymore because ever since Vesperia it's been a collaborative process. Staff get intermixed with every release. You can even see members of both studios in Tales of Graces credit reel.

Also,...

Movies were relatively shitty this year. Generally video games were better. Music was decent, but not near as good as 2010. Film has been relatively disappointing since 2007 (one of the best years for cinema in general). TV was decent this year. It was even better back in 2009 and '10 though. Every medium has its up and downs.

I'd honestly say 2011 has been a bit disappointing for gaming. A lot of overrated games with terrible narratives that got a free pass because o...

There is no such thing as Team Legendia. I wish. I really enjoyed that game, but it was a collaboration. Members of Team Symphonia and Team Destiny both worked on it. "Team Legendia" hasn't collaborated together since.

I don't see why they haven't yet. This can help generate some of the funding necessary for development.

I have the utmost respect for Ninja Theory. Their games are wildly diverse, each one sporting a great narrative. They bring a breath of fresh air to an otherwise stale genre that was only briefly resurrected by God of War III and Bayonetta. I'm a fan of Devil May Cry, but I'm not looking for more of the same here. I want to see an original take on the game in name only. Gameplay, characters... go ahead, change them all. After all, it's about the experience. And they've taken u...

I don't see how anyone could disagree with this. Sony needs this. Hopefully, this isn't just a rumor, because this could likely elevate the Vita in Japan very early in its life cycle.

I think feeling like a hero's overrated. I'd rather feel/empathize for the two main characters, and experience their struggles. If I play a video game, I'm looking to escape in its fiction. I don't want to be the focal point. I don't want to be the hero. The reason I play video games is to get lost in a world that isn't mine or revolve around me. I'd much rather come to understand these two characters and the world they live in through the narrative.

No drastic change? What do you call HD towns and sidequests such as the Historia Crux? Are you serious? They opened up the game. That's pretty drastic, especially since I never really cared for towns to begin with. This just goes to show SE shouldn't listen to the West if they still hate on it. They make the changes "fans" are supposedly asking for, and yet it's still not enough? I don't know why it's popular to hate on SE these days, but it's starting to rea...

I was watching Warrior the other night and noticed Microsoft's handiwork in the final fights. On each of the posts were blatant Xbox 360 advertisements. lol It's not the first time this has happened either. If I remember right, Sony did something similar advertising Heavenly Sword in Heroes first season I think it was, but it's now becoming more and more obvious that Microsoft is flexing their muscles more in terms of advertising in media.

Also, let's not for...

I'm partial to 2009-2010. I really don't think 2007 belongs in that list. And of course, 2001 should have been #1. Nostalgia would be the only reason 1998 is voted to the top. More quality games came out in 2001. Also, I have no idea what 1996 is doing in there. It was completely forgettable. If the highlights of that year include Resident Evil and Tomb Raider, there's something wrong there. 2005 was also a personal highlight for me.

I honestly didn't see this coming. I expected UC3 to win, but I completely forgot about their review for Dark Souls. I'm sure they'll be making a lot of people happy when they announce their Game of the Year.

Some people liked inFamous 2 more. And there's still that one game you know. The one everyone forgets about... LittleBigPlanet 2.
