Definitely. It's got better story pacing than some of the biggest open world games out there. The hand to hand combat was fun.

Has no one ever played Tomb Raider in the past?
It's puzzle and platforming heavy.
Uncharted's gameplay is different. It is very action and shooter oriented.
But NEW Tomb Raider, on the other hand, plays a lot more like Uncharted.
I think the author is stuck in 2011, when 3DS actually deserved some of the heat it got based on its price and lack of games.
But that was over a year ago and this guy is being incredibly defensive and fanboy-ish.

Even Shigeru Miyamoto has expressed his desire for new franchises. But the president believes that they have a tradition they won't change.
This is why we won't see many new Nintendo-developed franchises, because all of their development time and resources are spent on sequels from the 80s.

I played for almost 20 hours and could not bring myself to play one more.
The last FF game I played before 13 was FF12. Despite its flaws, it was still an RPG. FF13 could barely be called that.
No exploration whatsoever or world map. Linear hallway-like conveyor belt level design. Towns, NPCs, shops all annihilated. Floating spheres? wtf. The battle system and summons... story logs... just... ugh.

The tech was there. It was a great deal. You couldn't find a Blu-ray player for much cheaper than a PS3 in 2006.
