I never said there weren't any similarities. There obviously are similarities, much like the examples I gave above, which share similar "themes" and "presentation" with each other the same way SSB and All-Stars share a theme. So I stick to my point.
I actually play both games and that's how I know the differences between them. The same way I know the differences between Tekken, DOA and Virtua Fighter even though they share the same 3D 1-on-1 play ...
Agreed.
One PS4 for everyone. Or two if the only difference is hard-drive size.
First of all, you are confusing question marks for exclamations marks.
Did you just say Bayonetta 2 looks like Bayonetta 6 in graphics? What?
And the Wii U hasn't proven anything, because it hasn't done anything(yet).
At first it was games, then sales and now they're playing the "profit" game.
For every positive PlayStation related article, there's always someone turning it into a negative.
Sega and Capcom are examples of companies that did character mash-ups before Nintendo.
I like how you got VERY specific in that first paragraph because you want the answer you only want to hear.
* Are PlayStation All-Stars, Jump Super Stars, Digimon Rumble Arena, Battle Stadium, Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble, DreamMix TV, Rag Doll Kung Fu, that River City Ransom 4-player fighting game, etc clones or rip offs?
* Are Tekken and Dead Or Alive Vi...
Please learn the meaning of a rip off. The War Z is an example of a rip off.
And character mash-ups isn't even an original SSB concept.
Are Tekken and Dead Or Alive Virtua Fighter clones or rip offs?
Are Final Fight, Guilty Gear, Skull Girls, KoF, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure and BlazBlue all Street Fighter II clones or rip offs?
Is Forza a Gran Turismo clone or rip off?
Is Super Mario a Pac-land clone or rip off?...
Did you even play both games thoroughly? Or are we just judging by its looks.
You're delusional if you think that character mash-ups and rivalries are original concepts of Smash Bros.
The level design is nothing like Smash Bros. One of the biggest differences is that the game doesn't even focus on ring-outs.
It has combos and super move set ups that just don't happen in Smash Bros. And these are definitely not the only two games in the brawler GENRE.
Well the Gamecube was around until 2006 or so, but its relevance was really diminishing by then and Nintendo kept slashing the price until it was eventually discontinued. So I wouldn't call that "competing" either. Even worse with the Dreamcast. It was dead in NA and EU by 2002.
@ $400? Definitely.
I like how KZ2 seems to be the only example haters come up with and ignore all other presentations that were real-time.
Besides, the final game looked better than the CGI trailer.
I got to about half way in Bayonetta and suddenly stopped caring.
With GOW though, I found the gameplay to be more fluid and the whole experience more enjoyable, personally.
Stay informed, people.
I recognized the pics from Resistance, Uncharted, MSG4, KZ2 and UC2 from early press screenshots.
I'm thinking the author hasn't played most of these to notice.
I think that explains some of it....whatever that was.
Not Infinite. You didn't read the article, did you.
He said that System Shock 2 was claustrophobic due to technical limitations. He wanted more openness on the FIRST Bioshock, but the level designers thought he wanted levels designed in the same manner of SS2.
Bioshock Infinite has a balance between more open environments and claustrophobic ones.
They're just apologizing for the Bayonetta port.
General consensus says otherwise. It is not a "terrible" game nor was it meant to "copy" Smash Bros.
Out of all the other positive previews, 1UP had to be the a-holes.
And when others were praising Ni No Kuni, aside from reviewing and scoring it a 'C', they also had to write a whole article just to say why they think it's not so special.
They're playing "familiarity" as a negative point exclusively for GOW and not for New Super Mario Bros 4, Pokemon, Halo or COD.
But sure, let's ignore all the additions and improvements /s
That's what I want the most from a gaming console: High focus on gaming.
This is how I wish ALL consoles were like.
