thats what i do, unless its a big name title with MP. i did that with BFBC2 instead of picking up god of war3 @$60. cause single player games won't change but MP games will feel different if you don't get right into them at release. then as soon as gow3 hit $29 i picked that up.
same with RDR, today its $39 and i'll probably go pick it up with another $20-$40 game. other cheap games i picked up late was SC:conviction=$10, ME2=$20, bayonetta=$40

if people are thinking about getting a 360/ps3 this late in the game im positive they don't frequent his site or really care that much about exclusives. i'd say its more about what system their friends have. so i wouldn't try to convince them otherwise unless what want to look like a fanboy douche.
i don't know what game your playing but you have way more control of your character in gears2. the cover/cancel alone makes it a better experience.
