they should make optimized installs for all 360 games now. if your too broke to buy a HDD for your 360 then you don't really deserve to have the best performance.
I have 11 games installed on my 360 atm. reduced loadtimes and the fact that the disc isn't constantly spinning are great thing to have.
I also wish digitalfoundry/lensoftruth did comparisons with games installed.

why would it mean the end of 360 sales? MS could market the current 360 console to casuals/kinect-users for a super low price @ $99. then with a new $350-$450 hardcore system for those that want to upgrade.
not to mention all your 360/xbla games would most likely run on the new hardware
