Stop thinking in terms of a downgrade. What you saw was never intended to be the final product. Think of it more as an optimization. The reduction ( although minimum) will certainly help the overall performance of the game.
Since not everyone owns a GTX Titan or 980's in sli, a larger number of people should be able to max the settings now. Lets wait a week before we start a witch hunt ( no pun indented).
@Priestwithgun: Then No game for you. Come back 1 year...
Physical media is on it way out for good. Developers are putting less and less work into packaging so that we won't miss it when they finally pull the plug.
In fact, creating physical media actually cost a developer more than the money they loose from pirate copies of their games.
Exactly. I just preloaded them game last night via GOG.com and I still have to download a final file the day of release to activate the game.
More than half these songs have already been released for Guitar Hero in the past... Yawn.
It was a Computer Generated Image. It was still a prerendered movie regardless if it used engine assets or not. No one was using a controller off screen while the video was being recorded. It was entirely scripted.
Can we as a society agree to stop using the phrases 'blown away' and 'epic'?
We are in a hurry because apparently at 2 closed door events game play was shown which 'blew away' the people in attendance. So far all the public has seen is a prerendered CGI movie. We are all anxious to see this mind blowing game play we have all heard so much about.
You know if they didn't 'down grade' the visuals and as a result the game ran like crap, everyone would still be complaining. You people don't know what you want. The game will still look great. Quit counting pixels...
I suppose. The new map packs being added as a free download was fun. But I can see you POV.
I still play TF. I thought it was a fun, fast paced shooter. I never understood the hate. They tried to do something different and I think they pulled it off pretty well. Just take out the smart pistol and we're in business.
That's because AC is Guitar Hero...
I just designed a gaming rig for a friend and with an i5 + GTX 970 + 8GB RAM and a SSD for just over $700.00. The name of the game is rebates, rebates, rebates. Only a fool would pay retail for PC components.
If you are lucky to live near a Microcenter, they offer $40-$50 off ANY motherboard with the purchase of a CPU. Their CPU prices are great regardless, but throw in an additional $50 off and its unbeatable. Their other parts are over priced though so look elsewhere for Ra...
Not to generalize you comment by one statement by why are people still up in arms about not being able to pilot an AT-AT? Did you really want to crawl across the map at 5mph? Did you really want to die in 5 seconds when a speeder wraps your legs with a tow cable or a Y-Wing bomb run takes you out?
It was probably an option in the early stages, but ultimately deemed 'not fun'. I'm not defending the game. I feel a lot of the choices they decided to go with are poor...
My thoughts exactly haha. Its a pretty known fact that rival GFX companies may 'entice' companies to implement certain code to enhance their hardware over others...
The Catch: "The raffle is limited to European entrants above the age of 18". Bummer
Even in its infancy, VR is ready for prime time. I had some time with the OR and it was simply amazing. It seems best suited for games that you sit in such as racing, flying and space battles, or 3rd person shooters.
Too many games are using the 'always online' feature as a form of DRM. It is completely unnecessary and does nothing but ruin or hinder performance. Most recently GTA V's Launcher was causing issues and had to be set in low priority mode. Even at that some performance drops are still present.
I get the need for DRM and protecting your IP, but at what cost? DRM really only hurts the ones who play by the rules and buy the games.
@Perjoss: I agree. This is my first time dealing with these guys ( never owned one of their titles), but they seem very confident in regards to delivering the best experience possible.
I'm really pulling for them since they seem to be very candid about their development process and I like that. Which is refreshing given how a lot of other developers act.
One of these comments is shallow and pointless, while the others are meaningful and deep. I shall let you guess which.
