The game is kind of mediocre, but the art style and theme help make up for it. I can't stand the pseudo Spielberg 'commentary' track played over the entire game. It's pretty damn annoying. I wish there was a way to disable it. You can lower the dialogue volume, but then there are subtitles on screen, argh. Other than that its pretty fun.
A majority of those bad mouthing the OR have never even tried it. Its truly an awesome experience. You are buying into the bleeding edge of technology. Why do you think this was going to be 'affordable' (IMO it is)? A decent gaming monitor will run you ~$600+ easy.
The rift is a HiDef monitor, includes VR, head tracking, 3D visuals, a headset, and controller. $600 is a steal for what you are getting. Plain and simple, for those of you that want to try the next big thi...
You still needed a way to play those disks. The players were a pretty big investment too. You could easily build a OR compliant machine for ~$1600 USD ( including the $600 for OR). Id say that's fairly reasonable to be on the bleeding edge of technology.
I tried messed around with the dev kit last new years eve and I was really impressed. OR really shines in games where the user is in a stationary position like racing or flight sims, top down racers, or platformers. It still has a way to go in regards to first person shooters IMO. Prices for new technology have always been high ( CDs anyone?).
I only buy organic Tatooine oranges and apples...
I upgraded to a 1080p 144hz gsync monitor last summer and it has literally been the best purchase Ive ever made in regards to PC parts. People think Gsync is a gimmick (to an extent it is), but it really works. The best part about using Gsync is you can disable Vsync in any game which gives you a big boost in performance while still maintaining a tear free image. So Gsync+144hz ( even at 1080P) is spectacular.
If your monitor supports it, you can go one step further and enabl...
They didn't learn their lesson when Titan Fall's DLC failed. They thought they could slap "Star Wars" on it this time around and people would eat it up. People are not. Season pass will either be $20 or free come this summer... Patience young Jedi
What the hell is wrong with you idiots. You all assume the worst. I'm not saying that its a bad thing. Just saying that's probably why. I use steam. I love steam.
Coincidence that Steam also had a massive sale in November? Probably.
I hope the next installment let you jump vehicle to vehicle in larger car battles.
Completely agreed. I went a bit off course early in the game and started doing side missions. By the time I got back on track I was basically unstoppable. I would have liked to see some sort of scaling difficulty. Also the side missions are repetative. Loved the game though.
The fact no one is complaining about maps being offered for free now tells you how many DLC season passes they've sold...
Well, there is an invincibility glitch ATM. Maybe that's what you were seeing?
Sounds a lot like pushing the cart in TF2. Love it !
Logging into N4G everyday makes me appreciate the life I have and I'm thankful I'm not negative, full of spite, and overly fickle like most users here.
That was mainly because people had no idea how to play the objectives. Towards the end players began to figure it out. Most still played walker assault like death match, but some actually played it correctly.
The main thing EA should do is disable turret use for the imperials. They already have a MASSIVE advantage especially towards the end when all the Rebels get is those worthless speeders and you basically spawn inside a barrel while the imps just fire into it.
Funny the people complaining are the ones who haven't even purchased the game. Also, if you are paying $60 for this title, you're a sucker. Never pay retail There are multiple options to get this title for around $40 bucks...
Says the guy who stole the game...
I bought the game for $45 via GMG. I probably wouldn't have paid $60 for it because I'm a cheap bastard. Loving this game so far. Despite what people say, there is a good amount of content available.
Whats there is extremely detailed and deep. Level design is some of the best I've ever seen. So many little details. Playing Endor I find myself exploring more than actually playing. If you are boycotting this title, your a fool. Buy it at a discount and enjoy it. ...
Easy way for Nintendo to get out of funk. 1) Stop rerererereleaseing classic games. Enough already. 2) Make a completely open world Pokemon game. Not a lame-o 2D side scroller. Not a cheap 2.5D game, but a full 3rd person 3D game. Watch the dollars roll in then apply that same logic to other IPs. Funk over.
