Played it for about a week and realized it's your typical gacha game but with Street Fighter characters.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was a marketing ploy of some kind.
Yeah, FF16's combat is more akin to a hack-n-slash action game with heavy RPG elements. Which isn't surprising cuz the action director worked on DMC games.
I do like that the combat is about player choice. You can make it as mechanically difficult or easy as you want to with the caveat being that you're limited by the game.
Did the FF 13 games come out over 20 years ago? Cuz those games are turned based. Also, FF7R is technically turned based. You're just allowed to do attacks but you still have to scroll through a menu for magic and abilities or you can set it so the attacks are automatic and you do everything through the menu.
SoP isn't that bad. I'm enjoying the game so far. It's different and I like it.
Whoever wrote this article obviously doesn't know what a Souls-like is. I've watched the gameplay thing and yeah, sure, it borrows element from SoulsBorne games but it looks and plays more like a Devil May Cry (which isn't a coincidence because I believe the combat director for FF 16 worked on some DMC games). Square knew way back then that they couldn't keep the series strictly turned based. They knew they had to change and evolve with the industry. Would I love a turned base...
Forreal. They should have finished what Mike Watson was working on before he passed away (he was working an an official patch for Saint's Row 2 that would have fixed the majority of existing bugs and added in all the Xbox exclusive content for the PC). Or at least make competent remaster to honor him.
I'm also getting it on PC but I'm going to wait a bit. According to a couple of Youtubers, there's performance issues with the PC version.
That's cool and all but he's still doing what the shareholder want. Pushing for more investment into NFTs for their games. NFTs have literally no place in gaming.
I'm pretty sure they had plenty of time. PC version was originally supposed to release the same time as the PS5 version so they planned for a PC version since the beginning. They delayed it 5-6 months. They knew what they were doing and still messed it up somehow. I put a bunch of blame on Naughty Dog's in house engine. That engine isn't built for scalability. They need to rebuild the engine for that. Guerilla Games built DECIMA for that same purpose. So they can scale games for c...
Hope it's a good boxing game. I haven't played a boxing game I liked since Fight Night Round 3.
I'm a Sony fan but I mostly play on PC now and I complained and still complain about the $70 price tag. That's why I haven't bought a PS5. I ain't paying that much for a game no matter how good it is. Also, by that logic, I guess Xbox fans are going to love getting charged more since Microsoft are also going to be charging $70 for their games even when their games haven't been as critically acclaimed or as good as Sony's first party IPs.
Wish Sony would get Bluepoint to remake Bloodborne and stick that on PC. A person can dream.
Exactly. Don't know why outlets are calling it a Remaster. The game literally has all new assets, changed/updated mechanics, new voice cast, runs on a different engine, new or smother animation transitions in battle for Zack, and adjustments to the story and a bunch of other things. It's clearly not a Remaster. Also support for full 3D camera due to having a second analog stick.
To be technical, he uses Escrima sticks. I think Batgirl uses the Tonfa albeit a modified one. Anyhoo, I have almost 80 hours in the game. Despites it's drawbacks and performance issues on PC, I'm having fun with it. Just trying to finish Heroic Assault so I can farm for those Lv 60 Mods.
They still make games not directed at the mass audience. They just aren't the big budget games which are advertised heavily or made by Square themselves. Drakengard, Nier, Bravely Default, I Am Setsuna, Octopath Traveler, etc. All great games IMO. With the business how it is now, it's more costly taking risks than it is to go with something that's tried and true. More costly in the fact that something new might not make them the money they want so they go with something they know ...
I watched a few mods where people put Bubniak's face back in and I swear the facial animations on his model look way more expressive than the new guy's face.
@343_Guilty_Spark Cuz Microsoft owns some of the biggest IPs now. CoD, WoW, Overwatch, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Halo, Forza, etc. If Microsoft just decides one day that they will no longer be putting those games on Sony's platforms, it's a major loss for Sony. Bet you sales of Xboxes or whatever platform Microsoft is making next is going to sell gangbusters if CoD become exclusive to Xbox.
People complain about battle passes, season passes, and microtransactions being in full priced games but they go and buy the games and spend their money on theses passes and microtransactions anyway. Sadly, this is how the industry runs now. Regardless of how many of us online complain about it, we aren't the majority. Diablo is a popular IP. It will make money regardless of what bullshit money transactions Blizzard adds to it. Look at CoD. So much stupid microtransactions have been added...
