I remember talking about this with someone on the forums and they made some good points. Like what exactly are these old games doing at the moment? They pushed the hardware and did everything they needed to do for that platform at the time. Now in MS case even their new games are gonna be day and date but if we're taking about old games. Those games are just sitting their not doing anything anymore. When you port the old stuff to another console, that game has life again and move few more...
He's doing that on purpose because it makes a certain fanbase mad.
It works like a charm because it just shows they pay attention to Xbox more than PS at times.
They have another gen in them but the one after the next could be questionable imo. Hey Xbox said they're positioning themselves to be a publisher across the industry. No red lines and all. Xbox only fans need to think bigger than their box bit the health of the industry as a whole. Especially with Ubisoft failing and EA starting to not do well.

Interesting if he loved his role so much he would of said it as much in the kinda funny interview. The guy has mentioned his love for Indies but the timing of him pushing back against LS then having his own Indie department is a bit suspicious. In the kinda funny interview they mentioned VR2 and he laughed and said I rather move on from that topic. He left on a good note clearly but maybe the directions and choices they were making were questionable to him.
Except they're not. It's been repeated several, several, several UK times over and over they're making hardware. Surprise, surprise it's only Sony fans who aren't getting that memo.
Phil said in the interview with Destiny that he wants to compete with Sony when it comes to hardware capabilities. They may sell 10 million life time on their next console but it's to give ppl that hardware option from Xbox if they choose to buy and Xbox.

Herman is in charge of first party again with the added role with working with hollywood for TV and movies. That probably means this Horizon push will slow down I know that was Herman's child.

Oblivion remake said to be releasing in June. "xbox has no games" seems to be the thing of the past. That's been going on since 2011. 14 years to get to this point of regular cadence of releases is ridiculous especially if your a platform holder no other system in history has had that problem for that long ever. Anyway good for Xbox though regardless.

MS themselves in court said they didn't expect to move Xbox sales. Why would would they if the game is multiplat? Nobody's gonna switch ecosystems for one game. Leaving their friends, trophy's etc for a yearly game? Not happening again MS even called it themselves. With Xbox it's about growing the ecosystem more than anything.
Ignoring? They show up to the 1st party I just listed and those games don't stay on the charts(because GP). On average yes they much rather play through GP most of the time but they seem to show up for the most anticipated games, for the most part.
With Ubisoft not doing well and EA starting to suffer MS is trying to position themselves to be a major third party publisher and release games to everyone. So financially they'll be OK.
Let's just say if something like that were to happen those Sony games on Xbox would definitely not be in gamepass. Sony doesn't believe in the subscription model the way Xbox does not by a long shot. Boxed physical sales is the core of Sony's buissness and Xbox crowd would have to buy it.
Also Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon, Starfield and Indy all charted. The Xbox Crowd buy games, they dont stay long on the charts but they show up. Depends if the games are adver...
I remember awhile ago I can't remember if it was an article or what but they said this gen will be less about platform wars and more about IP wars. Having your IP on everything and software on other platforms. The race to see who's software will come out on top.
As for Sony, maybe I don't see Yotei, Intergalactic, Wolverine etc going over any time soon. I can see their LS games doing it. In fact, prediction time I think Fair Games will be on PS5 (of course) PC...
