By "forced" I mean "people keep voting 'no' with their wallets and they keep doing it anyway."
"Why should they settle into what's popular?"
Because they're supposed to make stuff that people actually like?
The sucky part is that I LOVED The Wind Waker.
I just think the value of the "uniqueness" it brought to the series has been exhausted. People just want to explore Hyrule in the usual ways, but with content enhancements that make the world come alive again.
I wonder why it was removed. Common sense suggests it was a reaction to the DRM policies, and that the reduction of GameStop support prompted Microsoft's reversal, but there's nothing that really confirms that suspicion...
We're already seeing that it's changing. I noticed a couple trademark enemy behaviors were dumbed-down (one of them seemed nonexistent) in the original trailer.
I want Zelda to change so it's less like the current ones and more like the older ones.
I still need to play this. Should have gotten it on sale when I had the chance. I'll get it...eventually
There's a clear pattern among the Zelda games that go down in history and the ones that people move on from shortly after they release. The former focus on world-building, on weapons that are satisfying to use outside of just puzzles, and on having the most engaging combat in the business; the latter focus on character development, items that are used mostly or only for puzzles, and engaging the player through story text.
Yep. Unless Sony doesn't require installs in any form, it's pretty clear their policies are going to be identical on almost all issues.
Am I the only one getting a Retro Studios/Metroid Prime vibe from this thing?
I don't even like Xbox One. I don't consider myself a "hardcore gamer." Why would I need to comfort myself?
You've got it!
So, they are releasing a successor to the Xbox 360?
1) Kinect + entertainment are already on Xbox 360 and drove how many people away?
2) They did just fine in North America this time
It did, sadly. Took a HUGE hit compared to Super Mario World. 3D Mario in general just doesn't sell as well. It still can help show that Nintendo can still make great-looking games even on lower-powered hardware, but it doesn't come even close to the potential of 2D Mario.
TL;DR Show me the system-selling Mario game, Nintendo.
Sega confirmed it's part of the deal.
I think "Mario Kart vs. Sonic" sounds more likely. Short and sweet and sticks to the "Mario Kart" brand.
Then it isn't? And nothing of value was lost that day.
Why does gaming need $400 specs in the first place?
