Actually, Skyrim is a pretty decent game with really fucking bad combat mechanics.
Neither would a Zelda game with shitty, wooden, rigid combat.

Exactly. Who the hell would buy Mass Effect 3 for WiiU when, just days before, the entire trilogy was released on every OTHER platform?
Author makes a lot of good points- it makes me wonder of third party services(such as Origin, Uplay) will be apps that run in the background on these new consoles. If that's the case, then in turning down that crappy Origin service, Nintendo made the right decision.

FFIX would jump straight to the top of the list for me. Not only did it show what the PS1 was capable of nearing the end of the generation, but it also brought with it two of the greatest FF characters- Vivi and Steiner. STEINER WAS A BEAST. Plus, equipment-based character class growth instead of that crappy DRAW command in VIII.

Yes, that would help, but where WiiU could really shine is eShop indie content. Hell, I'd even love to see AAA devs/pubs split off small teams to work on software that utilizes the tech. I've had this idea of a Gauntlet-style ARPG in which 2-4 players use Wiimotes and the DM uses the Gamepad.
