Ofcourse Vita will need its own exclusive games but crossbuy is a HUGE bonus. To some people crossbuy alone its is worth the purchase price.
Crossbuy and Crossplay is not just playing the same game twice. Its the ability to continue your gaming enjoyment anywhere you want. It frees you from the constraint of having to play your fav games only in the confines of your living room/bedroom.

You should check out Valkyria Chronicles. Its also a turn based tactical based game. Like Xcom, when characters die its permanent. The story is excellent, there is RPG upgrade element, graphics excellent, and I see it for $20 everywhere here in Canada now.
Xcom: Enemy Unknown- For me if I had to pick only one game for the rest of 2012 this would be it. Game of the Year for me.

You can't expect all the effects and features to transfer over. The vita is powerful but I don't think it can equal the PS3.
But to me the Vita is good enough and MLB The Show and NFS Vita ports is good enough for me. You can't do a side by side graphical comparison. You get the same gaming experience.

This is exciting. First with MLB The Show and now NFS. Both titles for the Vita are not exactly the same as they have a few features removed but the game is mostly intact.
If this trend continues with more titles like Xcom, Dishonored, Assassins, Borderlands, Hitman, Farcry, Blackops etc then I'll buy the Vita and the 32GB memory and be happy to pay.
PC already have crossplay and crossbuy.
For me it would have been great if crossplay and crossbuy was widely adopted by both 1st and 3rd party. I don't know why people have a hard time understanding why this would add value to the Vita and PS3. I play starcraft2 and civilization on my desktop at home and when I'm away on my laptop on a regular basis. Did the same with Rage.
That's what I read/heard. Select sony PS3 titles will be available for Vita download for free if you buy a PS3 copy and yes they're trying to get other publishers to jump onboard but I really doubt that business structure can succeed.

You are assuming with Crossbuy the Vita version would be "worse". I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and will assume it will be the same game but on a smaller screen with controls re-mapped.

Maybe because I'm an older gamer now but the story of these final fantasy games is just total nonsense and childish.
Fallout3, Fallout New Vegas, GTA, Bioshock, Deus Ex, Uncharted all have interesting stories where it doesn't involve crystals and spirits and strange made up names that sounds like they belong in a 4 year old Disney comic book.

They blew it. Ruined one of the best PC game brands. From DRM, poor server service, useless rare items, bugs ... I know I'm forgetting other things but that's only because the list of frackups is so long to remember all of them.

Yeah minis are nice but I can get that with my Android smartphone. What I can't get with my smartphone are PS3 AAA titles.
