R* games like RDR & GTA's are riddled with zanny stereotypes (no one apparently gives a toss when the Irish & Eastern Europeans are ridiculed) but the second it's Polynesian or African caricature, the game suddenly becomes offensive!
I for one enjoyed Far Cry 3's story.
Considering Ubisoft had relative success with AC Liberation on the Vita, it would be pretty sweet if we got a Far Cry spin off on the handheld.
It's open-world mission structure & mini-game sidequests would definitely be welcome!

Ubisoft did the exact same with Assassins Creed 1 on the PS3, so there is no need for Wii U owners to act so surprised.
They're a 3rd party publisher with strong links to both Sony (exclusive DLC's) & Microsoft (Splinter Cell series), so it makes sense for them to simultaneously release Rayman Legends on the 2 extra consoles that have an 140+ million install base.
