The answer is no. Just getting dissatisfied customers from another camp doesn't mean you're getting more gamers.
I don't think Either Console will bring in more gamers. Neither will Wii U btw.
Hits Just Keep on Coming.
If Sony shows restrictive bs as well? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Sony already implement fee's for used PS3 games such as if you buy a used game, you can play the offline portions of it but if you choose to play online there is a charge?
Seems pretty despicable to me. I'd say stick to PC gaming, since that is the direction M$/Sony want to go.
Before lumping Sony with Nintendo..Especially if their used games policy is any thing like M$. If its that much of a crippling deal breaker for Box1 it most certainly is that much crippling for Sony as well.
Keep in mind, they already share many negatives;
No Backwards Compatibility
Sony might charge for online like LIVE does (hope not)
Used Games Policy (Lets hope not but very likely)
Before praising Sony, lets wait for some ...
Wii U, so one next gen console is better than none.
Wii U might not be as bad as first thought.
Is what I've been saying. People are jumping all over M$ (deservedly so btw, as this is disgusting business practices)But then the same folks are supposedly running to Sony for salvation, even though their policies will be the same lol. Don't have sacred cows folks. Sony already does practices like this with PS3.
The issue is not 'blocking used games' that's how the questions have been formed and each representative from Sony has skated around the issue. ...
Is like wine, only better with age. Since Nintendo is doing ALTTP again, they should create a true spiritual sequel to Super Metroid! Have Retro do it : )
Are pretty much the same, save for Sony using a slightly better quality Ram, at least that is my understanding of that comparison.
As for the PC, there are Laptops that are like 2 years old that are more capable. This whole comparison between consoles and PC is ridiculous any way.
Consoles and console gaming have always been different from PC and PC gaming. M$/Sony have been trying to blur the lines between the two, but tech advances so fast its ultimately im...
But no backwards compatibility? Used Games Fee?
All you have to do is read between the lines. Listen to what is not said.
All you have is hope Sony doesn't go this route. Sony already implements online passes and fees and such doesn't it?
We will see in 3 weeks what Sony does. I just hope that you are as critical of them as you are with M$. Otherwise you may be seen as a hypocrite.
Just saying.
That isn't even the biggest problem! Though it is pretty high on this list. The whole damn thing is lame. I can't think of a positive atm regarding this Box.
Has its issues as well. An account system tied to the hardware? Lame. Gamecube Remakes such as Pikmin and WW? Lame.
However, ability to play used games with no fee? Backwards Compatibility? All pluses.
Its funny but, with corporate conglomerates such as M$ and Sony, this is the natural progression for them to take. This is why Sega's demise as a Console Maker was devastating. This Third Party Cartel has the industry circling the toilet.
Look at the backlash M$ is getting right now for their stance on used games. It is deafening. Sony skated around the issue. They keep talking about M$ 'always online' a mistake, how come no word on used game fees?
The only thing Yoshida confirmed was that used games can be played on PS4...and? That isn't even answering the question.
I expect the PS4 to have much in common with Xbox1.
And what happens when Sony shares similar policies in regards to used games as M$? This article will be funnier 3 weeks from now.
Have to realize that M$ isn't alone in their stance on used games. Sony will share a similar policy. And when they do confirm this I wonder if you Sony fans will be as hard on Sony as you are M$.
Sony relies heavily on third parties too. This isn't about cheerleading for a company. This is about gaming turning hostile towards gamers.
Actually confirm with reports? They skated around the issue like Scott Hamilton or Tony Hawk.
There are conflicting reports; One from MS Officials like Phil Harrison, and Customer Service reps. Who would you believe?
Sony only said it wouldn't block used games and that used games can be played on PS4...but that's not even the issue here. EA dropped Online Pass I doubt they did it strictly for M$, I'd be willing to bet Sony has a similar policy. ...
As no longer offering an online pass and instead enforce gamers to pay a fee for used games. That is awful.
Take off the fanboy glasses for a moment folks and realize how shitty this path will be for gamers.
Are their consumers.
This a 2D platformer or 3D?
I'd rather a 2D Sonic, with the spirit of Sonic 2. I loved the battlemode in Sonic 2. I could only imagine if they implemented an online battlemode (or co op)for a new 2D Sonic game.
