I totally could not remember who published King's Field but I totally kept rocking that game all the time because the rewards were always good for the effort but yes it was a plod :)... now it makes much more sense that King's Field was published by From Software... that in turn makes me like this game that much more and must be why I felt right at home with this game.. They really did a good job with what the Playstation had and giving you a really good RPG.

If anyone remembers playing that it has a similar feel to the game, except it's third person view with much more options but overall the penalties and the what's around this corner and how do I survive this is all there. I've been excited about this game since the teaser trailer from E3 a couple years back. This game looks to be gearing up to be a really good game. I hope they keep a good story throughout the game, as this proves they do have some creativity. It had me chuckling here at work. good times :)

I wouldn't say the first major JRPG as there has been others. Unless you don't count Disgaea 3 as a JRPG :)

When I switched out to my 500 gb HDD, I ran a full back up and when I restored I expected to have to go through downloading the games but they copied over. I was impressed because I remember one time where it didn't even get all the game saved data. They must have updated the backup feature with some firmware updates.
Granted the backup and restore time was a long time but at least there was nothing else to do but reactive my PS3 to play the downloaded games and movies I have....
I'm not naive enough to think that was a great quality scan but just saying in general. I don't expect it to be FFXIII graphics. If it is I will be pleasantly surprised :D which in turn would be a "yay us" for the ones actually interested in this game like me.

The graininess of the shots are what I would expect from an MMO where they are trying to keep FPS up and network latency down.
Reason in FFXI a lot of the people that were in the market didn't actually have there character displaying unless they were next to you.
but wouldn't really call them quite in-game yet. Majority of them are landscape shots which I will enjoy when running around the world but it didn't show the interface that I will be using or any action shots of the battles.
Hopefully as it gets closer to launch we will get that type of information.
The more I see on this game the more I will think I will enjoy it. As long as I can play a blm/whm/rdm class I will be happy, hope to see you at launch of this game next year ;)
Of course like in FFXI I will play every single class because will I'm a sadist in that department.
EDIT: I hope they have the abiility for good macros of switching equipment, because it looks like that is going to be necessary like in FFXI, but on a larger scale(?).
There will still have to be a "level system" or there wouldn't be the ability to determine how much that "growth" has been, but I'm willing to try it out regardless. I moved to FFXI from EQOA and EQOA:Frontiers to have something different. Let's hope they do succeed with this different style of dynamics and we see growth in the MMORPG realm. Although I still like my level grinding session once in awhile :D
Unless you specifically like getting broken away form the story for several days. I would not actually recommend it. It doesn't have the flow of GTA, MGS, or UC for story. Although it is a good sandbox of an RPG, FFXIII is most likely to keep you in the story more than with a MMORPG. Unless you have fun playing your buddies online as I do.
If anything like FFXI there will be a solid storyline that is happening while you are in the world of that game. It just depends on how the mechanics are how much of it you follow and how many side missions you do for your characters own growth. I enjoyed all the Bastok missions and how the war was going and meeting Cid. It was really fun. Not only could you play with your Friends you definitely met alot of other great people.

I agree with your statement. Most retailers play it by ear anyways and give a release date to get preorders. Since March was a confirmed date for Japan release some retailers are thinking they might get it in March as well. Until Sony themselves suggests the date, then they are rumors and should be treated as such.
FYI... a game is not delayed unless Sony set a firm release date and then pushed it back and if you read the playstation blog they normally will tell you if they are...
