Oh well, it's not like I won't get the game because of that. I hope all of the voice actors deliver a great performance and live up to the voice acting standard that MGS is known for.
It's funny because there are TONS of movies with nudity (and even stripping) in it, but when something like this comes out, people get all "OMGish" over it. Lots of forms of media have sex, violence, swearing, ect. Why should games be any different? If this guy wants to make his game an intense storytelling experience, then I don't see why he shouldn't be able to add nudity if it adds to the game. It's not like this is rated E or T, it's M, which is the equivalent to a rated R movie...
but not Randolph!! SWEET!!!
And does anyone know if Downess was the original voice for Miller in MGS1? I LOVED his voice in that!!
I don't want the MGS series to turn into an endless barrage of branch-off stories. I'd like to see just Peace Walker and a game about Zanzibarland (between PW and MGS1) and let it be over with. Complete closure is what I ask from Kojima at this point. Remakes are welcome, however!!! xD
But if Rising is going to happen, then I hope to see it turn out well. I have no hate against it, but I wouldn't like to see a franchise like MGS get milked.
How is this even news? If an exclusive from any console gets slammed by a reviewer, there are always fanboys who will complain. Nothing new here. This guy's saying how PS3 fanboys complain about bad comments for Uncharted 2, when a fair share of 360 fanboys got mad about plenty of ODST reviews. It's just the way things are, and there will always be assholes on the internet. Unless this impacts the gaming world in a way that people care about, it's just flamebait.
that he actually plans on making ZOE3. And top of the list? Hell ya!!!
My guess is that he'll start it after this wave of MGS games are finished. If it's top priority, then that's my guess. Don't hold me to that, though.
I already know this will be an amazing, must-buy game. Anything announced from here on out will just make it even better!!!
lol!!! xD
Great article. I wish people could just drop pointless arguements and enjoy games for what they're worth. But at this point it's impossible to stop all of the raging fanboys. Oh well, at least I know how to love and hate games instead of loving and hating consoles!!!
Your comment makes the last one that much more true, if it wasn't true enough already.
When MGS4 came out, 360 fanboys mercilessly criticized every aspect of the game, the cutscenes being one and the complex story being another. But as soon as an MGS (sorry, MGR) title is announced for the 360, they jump for joy and say it's gonna be an amazing game. And all the true MGS fans know that there's not going to be a complex story (because 360 owners don't know the main storyline) and the gameplay won't stay true to its roots (Lightning Bolt Action instead of Tactical Espionage Actio...
1. Finish Peace Walker
2. Cancel Rising
3. NO MORE AC!D GAMES
4. Make a game about Zanzibarland (Solid Snake vs. Big Boss)
5. End the series
This would complete the entire series and answer all the questions that still need to be answered without truely milking it. Rising, from what I've heard, is just a filler that is not needed at all. Plus, I just want to see Grey Fox blow up in a mine field!!! xD
AC1 was an amazing game, and this looks even better. Some low-res backgrounds won't stop me from getting this game. It looks badass!!!
I was gonna pick it up around Christmas, but I may have some trouble with that if they're running low right now. My best best bet is getting it used.
When the term "forward-thinking" is associated with the MGS franchise, it's usually in reference to the original MGS or even the Metal Gear games before that. It was a totally different take on games at the time, it gave a cinematic experience with a bigger, more convoluted story. Plus, it "broke the fourth wall" with parts like the Psycho Mantis mind reading. MGS2 and 3 were not as revolutionary, but managed to still do an outstanding job for what was expected of the MGS ...
Where's Call of Duty? Killzone 2? Portal? System Shock? Doom? HALF-LIFE!?!? Seriously, if Halo 3 can make it on the list, then all of these should definitely be on there.
that they priced this at $40 instead of $60. That was a smart move. And I'm pretty sure it comes with the GoW3 demo, too. Sooooooooooo worth the money!!!
The end result counts the most. Turn 10 could have worked on FMS3 longer and made it into an even better game, but they chose not to obviously, whereas Polyphony wanted to add extra cars and work on a better engine, which of course took longer. When all is said and done, it's what you're purchasing that counts, not how long it takes to make it.
And people compare the two because they're both huge racing games. When I want to buy a game, I want to make sure it's the best of its ...
I'll wait for GT5. IMO it seems to look better. But for all the people who just own a 360 and want a racing game, this looks to be the best one.
is a game that EVERYONE should play sooner or later.
Great list!!!
they really meant it! Nice job! Definitely getting this with the preorder demo!!!
