Sony didn’t show anything new IP wise either.

MS showed more new IPs from third party though. Sony has Control however which I was expecting at Ms to be perfectly honest. It looks like Alan awake style mind freak but more QB inspired combat. Which could be fantastic.

Sony’s only real strength was showing games from 1-3+ years ago finally. Which i loved but wasn’t “winning” material imo from an overall conference perspective.

Death Stranding is visually fantastic but I still have zero idea what it is or why i should truly be excited outside of “Kojima” and the cast itself. So as much as I want it, I don’t know if I’ll even play it still which is just odd for a video game of its apparent magnitude. Not saying it’s bad, but the mystery is still bigger than anything we’ve actually seen.

I’m much more excited for the other 2 though as we have some idea what to expect from all of them and looked li...

Gameplay was great but it was the same 4 games we already knew about. Other than Ghost all of them have been talked about years too. The only reason Ghost is “new” was because it was the first big game they’ve announced in years really.

Not knocking the games and glad we saw them but if you’re more exited about DS now than any other trailer you’re still wondering “wtf is it” anyways.

He said Major AAA games. SoT and SoD are not major and quite frankly are arguably AAA at best. Neither compare to anything like GoW, Uncharted, Gears, Halo, Forza even, etc. they’re probably both below Ryse, QB, SSO really.

I enjoy SoD2 though and wanted to play SoT but just sort of passed over it without feeling like I missed anything.

60fps is better, period.

It would be fantastic to see 4k/60 and a worthy generational leap and anyone that says otherwise are lying to themselves. The problem? Console price points, the “equivalent” hardware of today with this target (especially with open world games), and the whole Generational leap thing.

That said, if Devs all target 60fps then we could still see plenty of 4k/60 games with above modern Ultra PC settings because a lot of more linear g...

Agents was pretty good. Not great but very “Crackdown-like” as an over the top arcade action title.

On sale for like $7.50 for Xbox one right now.

I preferred both Mario+Rabbids and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Odyssey actually. Odyssey was fantastic but as a strategy and rpg fan those two games stood out more for me actually. Just 2 other games I’d recommend to any fan of their respective genres.

This year so far though has mostly belonged to other platforms. I bought DK since I didn’t own a Wii U but I’ve spent more on Indies for Switch in ‘18 than on retail games. Which I’m cool with but isn’t ideal though.

I want it just to see what’s possible. PS4 and Xbox One can both have gorgeous games, but Pro and X are still tied down by older hardware. Higher res versions on them are fantastic though and now and again you get minor other bonuses as well.

So, it’s not really so much as I’m ready as a I want to see what new hardware allows devs to do again—although I’ll preorder day one anyways as a I can wait, but I won’t. I’d you’re not ready though, cool, as it’s not like they’re c...

Next gen can last plenty, I want a 4k ps5 by 2020 hopefully.

I can wait another year for 2021 if I have to, but 2020 is the sweet spot for me. I’d be willing to pick it up next year though, but another year wouldn’t hurt due to games we know about can fill in before then fine and gives hardware an extra year to grow. Not unhappy with my PS4 by any means, but in 1-2 years is when clock starts to tick a bit louder.

That’s always my least favorite part. Presenter and or co-presenters. WD2 reveal had that one social media guy that looked completely out of sorts in front of a live camera. 1-2 other similar people during that same conference.

I like the games shown usually, but the presentation at times seem over the top and come across as cringe-y now and again.

They won’t win next either. MS just needs to accept that they might own PC market with windows but Xbox will never be a PS or Nintendo.

It’s not the end of the world. Just do better from now on and really ramp up for next gen (new studios please). Make it a solid second at least (against Sony—Nintendo literally does their own thing every time).

I think the fact they have a 2 hour conference and a huge set up across the street is pretty telling. Xbox knows they need to bring it and although it’s not guaranteed, I think Xbox’s fans will be in for a treat this year.

I’m expecting some games to be a bit longer out than they’ve been doing though, just to help build hype around what they’ve been keeping quiet about (if anything). A good amount of multiplatform games (Cyberpunk reveal, Metro gameplay reveal, Splinter C...

“2021” was from a strategic meeting with a general Sony plan for the next 3 years—ending March 31st. So 2020 makes a lot of sense actually. Anything past March 2020 would fall into that category (spring 2020 which Sony has liked this gen) so maybe last hurrah titles then ps5 in Holiday.

Or it could be sooner and that’s just when ps5 is expected to peak above revenue streams from PS4 in the same time period (probably not though). It’s all fincancial talk and no real speci...

In other news, it’s basically on par with the first at launch but has multiplayer and bigger expectations that simply aren’t met. Review scores aside anyways which are generally lower to begin with (more of them reviewing it this time too), it doesn’t seem that different from what people got originally either—which is part of the problem.

So fans that could chug through the last probably get the same experience they enjoyed but with friends now. I’ll give it a go anyways ...

There was a rumor of a “Star fox Grand Prix” this week. Maybe it was a rumor based on hearing about star Fox and F zero in the same sentence?

It makes more sense than both racers, or a racing game based on star fox in general imo.

It really does which is part of why I believe it (this part—and sadly a Pokémon game based on the September movie world with an Eevee character and Ash still... plus GO makes sense even if i don’t want it, but do want Gen 1 so hope for the best anyways).

I found it better than all of the others personally. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t locked out of half of the world and it simply had a more livable world than the others which i just enjoy in open world games to begin with.

Not the best story though and I wasn’t a fan of forced story segments while just playing around. Only FC (besides Primal which was a bit shorter than most) I didn’t feel I had to force myself to finish.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got maybe 1 new AAA Internally Deved game, but that's probably it. They have enough to last 2 years if they want to really or just have one huge last year if it releases in '19. Maybe even save something for post ps5 and still play on ps5 (Death Stranding probably being the last big exclusive game on ps4, if it doesn't get pushed back to ps5).

2209d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

The only way I can see it really being supported that long is if some devs, especially Indies and smaller studios, shift towards Switch and then port to PS4/One. That way they get a piece of a newer system and current systems (last gen by ps5 though) for a very select few games. Sort of how PS3/Vita can still see a rare bone thrown their way because of the PS cross-buy functionality still in effect (probably less than once every 2-3 months now though).

I can see a few bi...
