That tech demo shows how good the graphics could when it concentrates on nothing but graphics and animations. That is likely as good as it is going to look for a while. Normally tech demos are a step above game graphics for that system.
I just don't so how you think it will look so much better.
Nintendo has some great games on their system too that they make for the gamers. I see Kevin better as a Sony person but a little bit of a Nintendo person on the side.
I disagree with Mario. When they release a new Mario at least they find more innovative gameplay mechanics and don't just add new levels and weapons.
The Dolphin Gamecube emulator allows 3D support for 3D monitors. Both the Gamecube and PS2 emulator have way higher resolutions possible. It looks so weird when you change it from high resolution to native resolution on an emulator.
So you can't really play the PSX games anywhere without bringing a PS3 controller? I prefer the controls and the screen on one object and not the extra luggage.
From my experience the lynch mob is on the XBox side. Especially for XBox Live. Of course every console has a mob. But I see less "lynching" on Sony's side for the most part.
1. Consoles and PC's will have more evolved tech when next gen consoles come out.
2. Consoles have the benefit of having more optimization possibilities for them.
3. Not every game would suddenly be too graphics intensive just for being 4k. There are going to be some crazy awesome 2D games with really high resolution art. Probably reviving some joy for 2D games cause of how sharp and crisp the artwork will be.
For most games yeah. Games like PixelJunk series will look awesome in really clear and smooth 2D levels in 4k. I am sure that the next gen consoles could handle that.

You can definitely see the difference. Just not if you are comparing 1080p to 4k while watching the TV on your couch from more then 6 feet away.
I sit two or three feet from my PC monitor and see a clear difference from my 1600x900 resolution to 1080p.
But from further away if I watched it like the standard living room TV watcher does I could hardly tell a difference.
I haven't needed an upgrade for years. I can max out Crysis and BattleField 3 pretty easy.
You don't NEED to upgrade first of all. No games still don't require you to have to upgrade. Don't say you are happy with standard graphics when you suddenly try and argue with the assumption that you HAVE to have the latest PC hardware so can play games maxed out which you don't have to do(And you don't need the latest PC hardware to do that).

Dark Souls and Demons Souls may be difficult games but are mostly pretty fair. You start out about as strong as the other people you face. When you die it is normally due to your own mistake. From Software are a fair company. More then fair. Dark Souls on PC with the new content could be bought for $40 on Steam preorder. Heck of a deal. They are very nice to customers.

By far? No. Top notch because you pay for it? Not at all. It uses peer to peer for most games. Sony has more dedicated servers in their games then XBox and dedicated servers are far more reliable and can hold more people on them at once. MAG can do 256 players for instance no problem. The battery in PS3 controllers last over 24 hours. It takes no more then 15 minutes to recharge them to full. So evil Sony!

I hate the 360 analog placement. I prefer my hands to be in symmetrical positions. I don't like having my wrist moved up and twisted under a little bit more just to use the left analog. I have big hands and I have that problem.
MGS4 was tested on a Vita with over 30 fps. They hardly changed anything on it so it wasn't even optimized.
