I'm in the same boat. I love both games and my first impulse was to get back to them after E3 - I even light/medium-modded FO3 so it could look better (you know, that one whole day only to that heh) but right after I thought about that burnout you mentioned.
I want to launch Fallout 4 and feel that bliss I had when I first played FO3 =)
Agreed, nonetheless it's a good start for a better awareness.
About where to get them "officially" won't be through steamworks, it'll be Bethesda.net as confirmed by himself: https://twitter.com/DCDeaco...
Besides speculations of that strategy being for future paid mods etc etc I don't know and frankly I don't care.
Fortunately PC players have Nexus and the really creative people are there. They probably...
My only worry about all the fuss around TressFX or Hairworks would be if Nvidia wouldn't be listening. AMD always was kinda of the "good guy", releasing their SDK source and whatnot. When Nvidia came with all the proprietary wagon with Gameworks it was kind a heavy storm at the horizon.
Fortunately - maybe too soon to be an optimistic - they're listening to the industry, market and maybe even the consumers on this specific matter and adapting their strategy....
Oh.. you're right - thanks for pointing that out. I don't know why I thought it would have be available for PC as well.

Seems like the Definitive Edition tweaked up some graphics from last gen versions for the new consoles, that's why. Some sites argued the PC version didn...
I never played - and wanted to play - Dishonored. That price is great for the GOTY edition but since Bethesda announced the "Definitive Edition" at E3 I'll just wait :/
That mobile.. breaks my hopes for a better future. BibleThump
That's a relief.. if they start to focus more on the "FPS action", honestly this will be my last Fallout.
If you're into consoles, maybe. PC never was that glitchy - and when it was they were fixed by the community. I'm fine with that.
If you want boring linear less glitchy - but still gltchy - games I suggest WB games.
Exactly.. not to mention Nintendo platforms tend to be the most hard ones to emulate (N64, GC).
@Lordani66
If you're talking about AMD's async compute as they designed it then you're right - other than that Nvidia chipsets will do it differently but will have it.
It's a maybe long way to go yet, and we'll see how it goes next months but I don't think Nvidia will just let this matter go. They already announced front-lines to address that "issue" through drivers (I know..) and I honestly - naively or not - think they have...
I wish too but.. to be honest, although it came very pretty, KOTOR's-Bioware's Dragon Age: Inquisition is Frosbite and came somewhat buggy and slow.
I loved it, but you can see clearly when a dev knows how to put an engine in best use and when it's just "ok".
Yeah.. well about gameplay I can't say much - although I love the theme I'm not a MP jump-shoot-teabag junkie, not my cup of tea. Played only to confirm it's not for me.
Not sure if the website is casual because it has "GROOMING" as main category on top menu or if how it treats Games as console-only. /Kappa
"opinion piece ... examines the likelihood of Fallout 4 having a big day one patch" +1 for the most elaborate click-bait title.
And no, no click from me.
Not only the images are impressive, as was the performance in the PC. I have a GTX 970 and could put it up to the max, but two friends of mine - one with a Radeon HD 6850 and other with a HD 7x50-something, two kinda old cards with 1 GB VRAM - they said it worked very well (some hacks here and there because of beta drivers) - on low but yet 30 fps!
Even on low settings they said it was very pretty. DICE did a good job overall.
Is it on Xbox One or PC? If PC remember to double-check almost everything here: http://www.crashwiki.com/10...
Believe me, the PC port can be very frustrating - it was for me first 2 times I tried to play it. I just recently got back for a third try - after specifically disabling Steam overlay + any FRAPS or that kinf o...
I agree.. most people rage when I mention that Skyrim has the more dull and uninteresting story and somewhat gameplay of the Bethesda Games TO ME.
Started (but not influenced that much) at Fallout 3 the streamlining of mechanics to please broader audiences (*ahem* consoles), and lost much of their touch. That's my main concern about Fallout 4.
Anyways, if they have to profit like that to keep making great (not excellent) games like they do I guess I'm...
"PC gamers always look at graphics and forget about gameplay", sure thing.
A quick look at top 100 most played at https://steamdb.info/graph/ we can see, only AAA graphics there.
Oh wait, there's another +20k games on Steam, only there because of graphics.
Good thing that PS4 (~700), XB1 (~450), PS3 (~1000), X360 (~1100) games honor gameplay, where we would be..
You never know if they are the same super-mutants presented to us before - they can be another mutation. Fallout lore is so complex sometimes but I love it. The exposition to radiation brought a lot of varieties, if you didn't watch and is interested I EXTREMELY recommend the Fallout: Lore Series, it's exceptionally well done and spoiler-free: https://www.youtube.com/wat....
