Well thats great news to read! I'm glad they are opposing the idea of covering up characters but it isn't really about that. It about upholding the creative freedom of the designers in these studios (from an artistic AND narrative standpoint). Companies really need tell these sjws off once and for all. These developers were admirable for upholding their creative freedom but they've let themselves get bullied by these sjws too much.
Just want to say I really appreciate the topics about game design and the things that fans dont usually see in this field. I think transparency and communication are the best medicines for a community and an industry to grow together.

This looks good. Im very impressed with how far they've come with this.
While this is all so very impressive, at what point is realism enough? What are they trying to get to? We already have lifelike facial animations (LA Noire) and body motions in games. Wish I could find the image but it didn't turn out very well. People ended up hateing the design.
In my opinion I think some games focus on it a little more than others. And some, not so much. I dont like it when it goes too far and abandons almost every sense of interactivity just to give us some glittery un-engaging hallway of a game (however Im happy to place Journey as an exception).
I like games that play like the games I've played in the past (PS1 PS2 era) but have a very strong art direction.

This is a definite buy. Star Ocean is one of the greats of the past and I'm glad to see they are still going strong with their 5th installment.
