...the architecture has proven itself and Macs are indeed stable and well built machines. But as soon as you connect to that campus wifi hotspot and start sharing the road with other PCs you'll be exposed to the same malware and virus problems and PC users.
The point is that every computer out there has the same risk, malware can be built and rebuilt and revised just as well as the industry itself.

Firmware can kill anything. Take my word for it, but if not just improperly flash a motherboard or graphics card and watch the madness ensue. And the subsequent suicide after realizing you can't play your PC games anymore.

I think Sony rips off gamers by forcing them to pay for features they probably won't use. Xbox Live might cost 360 gamers $40 a year but you always have a choice and that's to stay a Silver member if you don't want to pay. At least Microsoft made HD gaming accessible to the budget conscious.

Xbox 360 can handle this game, probably would be the same resolution and framerate given the necessary platform-specific optimizations of course. I think it's sad though, PS3 fanboys really did kinda write their own doom by spreading fud about all PS3 games being 1080p/60fps.

It's not true 1080p HD. Stop with this whole 1080p is 1080p thing.
1920x1080 = True 1080p HD
anything less than 1920x1080p =/= True 1080p HD
And it's not our words, it's actually a term Sony used to differentiate PS3 having HDMI from Xbox 360 having component HD. And even still, component HD can output 1080p (it's just not a color-sharp as HDMI)
Dante's Inferno is actually very competitive with GoW III. Kratos is so unrefined as a character, as a puppet for your gameplay enjoyment he fits his role. The story behind of God of War is excellent, don't get me wrong. But IMHO Dante's Inferno has a better story, plus better characters, and better graphics. It's to be seen if Goof of War III can stand up to its new rival, or retreat to its gods and goddesses.
But for now NO GAME tops Dante's Inferno in its genre.
GT5p =/= TRUE 1080p HD. True 1080p HD = 1920x1080. If it's not the same number then it's not the same resolution.
Halo 3 isn't 1152x640. It's 2 frames with 1 pass of HDR or LDR per 1152x640 frame. It's subHD but with an advanced lighting engine (also why they went without AA).
WirelessHD is coming, but not quadHD. USB 3.0 says hello.

Thinking of computer hardware as finite is fine, but how about the ability of the people working with that hardware? That's limitless, there's always more to do.
As for people who say that Xbox 360 hasn't produced great examples of its potential, it's not true at all. Gears of War 2 is not the only graphical game Xbox 360 has, and as far as it being the best that's up to the viewer. For a time I thought Bioshock had the sweetest graph...
I play Forza Motorsport 3 regularly with the guys at work, they all agree that Gran Turismo isn't nearly as fresh and innovative as Forza. They all compliment it mostly on how complete it is an online game and as a racing simulation.
But there's something that all fans should consider, and that's that these games are missing TWO KEY ELEMENTS in racing.

Obama, those trailers were comprised of work they'd done on PC and CG movies. You can't seriously think that it was being shown running on any of this gen's hardware.
They only started showing actual gameplay running on actual console hardware in the last year or so, right when everyone started this whole mess about 360 being the cause of the difference in quality.
My final word will be that having such great milestones to be proud of in YOUR OWN company's history is better than to have to owe it to someone else.

The way I see it firmware can crash a system if it's not the right firmware for THAT system. In consoles sometimes they put the whole thing together from parts that they may have gotten from another manufacturer. Like Xbox 360 SKUs having different optical drives.
So maybe the people whose PS3s are failing on them have some sort of config issue...? Maybe they were made in China...?
