After years of Sony decimating Xbox I thought this year they were gonna surrender. Never did I imagine them having so much better of a showcase than them.
Nah he’s right.
Company A has 300 employees and lays of 200 to replace them with AI to release the same quality game.
Company B has 300 employees and keeps all 300 but instead uses AI to release a game with dramatically larger scale, scope, complexity, short dev cycle etc.
Company B would release a dramatically better product by using humans + AI and consumers would buy the better game.
I actually agree with this concept.
It makes Remake feel like a demo.
9.5/10 imo. And I think the “mini games” did a great job of adding variety to the gameplay. Purely optional as well.
It is amazing how effective the repetition of
reductive statements like “You’re mad Joel died” or “You’re mad women have muscles” were on shielding this game from criticism.
The game has poor storytelling relative to the first.
The entire first game was about how brutal a trek across America would be in this post apocalyptic world. Yet the game has (almost) teenagers just strolling across America, some even by themselves multiple times through...
Yesterday I was playing and there was a puzzle with two gears, (one moving and one stationary) and I couldn’t figure out how to get the stationary gear moving .
I took my spear and stuck it against moving gear and it transferred the motion to the stationary gear and that solved the puzzle.
I was so shocked I went online to see what was the intended way to solve this and I didn’t see anyone solve it quite the way I did (from the few videos I watched).
I disagree. Nadella is looking for profit as a CEO should in my opinion.
The problem is Dr. Phil & Co. had 10 years to bring Xbox back on track and have been failing woefully.
Phil needs to sell to Nadella that if we are to make a profit, we need to make great games. And to do that we need employees here for the long haul and the freedom to work on creative projects.
But as Phil said himself he doesn’t believe great games sell con...
Interesting that Konami is releasing nothing of note and still enjoying high profits. I guess this is the allure to companies.
Sad. Rebirth was one of my favorite games in a long time. Should have sold more.
Yeah 16 was good but a little too different for a FF game for me.
FF isn’t turned based but one game shouldn’t mean that it isn’t an RPG.
For me it's just that as a fan of the series it is concerning when the best game in the series in decades, using the most popular IP of the franchise, isn't performing well.
It feels like SE hasn't gone all out on a FF game since X-XIII era. If it doesn't sell well it may signal to SE that putting effort in FF as a GOAT franchise like Zelda, GTA etc. isn't financially lucrative.
How in the hell is FF7 Rebirth not in this list?
Lol, how do you ignore Rebirth one of the best games ever made?
Nonsense.
PS1 and PS2 was built on great third party exclusives like FF, MGS, GTA & Tekken.
This my anecdotal theory too.
But it’s not just XVI but XIII, XV & XVI.
I think so many years without an excellent entry put previous fans off. Not to mention when buying a Final Fantasy game you get a widely inconsistent experience now so you don’t even know what you’re even a fan of. (Compare 7,8,9,10 to 13,14,15,16)
After XVI, as a huge fan of the franchise, I decided I was no longer going to buy day 1 but on sale like I do other...
I guess its a difference of opinion but I would 100% never green light a FFVII remake with that over-world style if I had to make that creative decision.
Cutting edge graphics was part of the allure of the original and a key factor in its success. And the remake should aim to replicate that IMO.
I just don’t think one release is feasible without butchering what FFVII is.
Going lower graphics would have been a slap in the face for the legacy that FF7 was upon release.
The overworld would have had to be planet sized and scope or else it kills the entire story of the game.
You need land, sea and air vehicles in a massive open world with tons of dialog, enemies and story.
I think a single release would have been worse.
I love FF, PS5 and Sony as much as the next guy but come on, its an honest question.
FFVII is listed on the most influential games and greatest games of all time lists. People begged for a remake for almost decades. People literally shed tears when the remake was announced.
Rebirth is also one of the best received games critically of all time. (90+ meta)
These are some of the most beloved characters in gaming. They have been insanely p...
Expedition33 really looks like what Final Fantasy could have been in an alternate universe.
