There are conceptual and gameplay spoilers.
I have some nostalgia for the original. But the art style is atrocious. Just like Double Dragon Gaiden.
I think another way to do Lightgun in VR is covert something like Time Crisis or Virtua Cop and have you actually be using the OG cabinets in VR as if you are in front of the screen in an arcade . This would work with many arcade games that have mechanical elements like Space Harrier too.
I miss FMV games. While simultaneously recognising many were abysmal.
There is an efficiency to buttons unless you always want to move into an imaginary back pack for items or menus, pinch your fingers for things you want to click in a menu, it will end up being functionally more complex than using buttons anyway . Having something you do not have to hold all the time is already the solution this gives hand tracking but lets you use buttons and sticks when needed, it will improve with time but you want both really.
Also using hands only does...
This is the barrier to VR there is a real problem with movement i don’t see an easy solution without very elaborate hardware. Walking on the spot feels unnatural.
I played this on PS plus. This game is so by the numbers. Just fine. Nothing special nothing awful. Nowhere near the standard of either Astro Bot title. Or even PS2 Ape Escape games.
Sumo are no longer independent so I am interested who Sony may get in to do similar single A titles.
I think Pavlov is one of the highest selling PSVR2 titles.
It was 20 years ago. The game did okay, move on.
To be fair multiplayer in VR is more novel. But I am am generally with you on this.
The type of games are the needed change , something not on rails, built from the ground up to use VR effectively. Astrobit was their bestVR title last time. But they need to go a step further and RPG or an exclusive adventure
I genuinely see people championing this deal but what do you think it will bring that is positive to gamers?l I realise people want exclusivity for whatever corporation they support. But you likely get the same games as you would have done without it.
It’ll be fine.
The saddest part is for now MS have taken Bethesda out of the picture. Sony don’t really do immersive interactive RPG worlds with their studios (as of now).
Skyrim VR for all the problems was still one of the best VR experiences. It gave a world to play in, very few barriers. You could relax by a river or go on a combat filled quest . It was pretty ugly to look at and clearly not completely tailored for VR but it is the closest thing to what I wanted.
Everybody’s Golf VR
PSVR2 has more first party exclusives at launch than the Series X had.
Farpoint is rough. Try something like Astrobot where you are external to the scene a nice comfortable camera position. Different games have different comfort levels. I can manage Farpoint mostly, but it is one of the ones that makes me uncomfortable.
Of all time? The console was only around a few years. It’s like saying the best games from 1995 of all time. (If they change the title by time you read this then this message will make no sense)
I am sure Orchard is a parody account
No. What do you mean?
