Just pathetic. I was shocked to find no options for managing disk space when looking over the Xbox One UI. Microsoft has gone insane with taking options out of the users control. Nothing angers me more than when companies think they know what's best for you and completely restrict access to basic functions.
Well I for one reject their vision.
The PS2 came out a year and a half before Xbox and Gamecube. All those systems were quite modern and powerful when they came out. That is what matters for a generation.
The Wii and now the Wii U both came out with 5 year old technology at launch. The Wii couldn't even run multiplat games and the Wii U likely won't get anything made for just PS4/XBO. That is the difference. Releasing severely dated technology from day 1 means studios making modern multiplat games are ...
The Wii U contains a low end GPU of 2009 technology and a triple core CPU version of what was in the Wii, which was in turn an upgraded Gamecube CPU. Computer hardware has generations as well, and the Wii U is by no means modern. This isn't just weaker hardware. The Wii U is hardware multiple generations behind their competitors. It's exactly the same situation the Wii was in with it's Gamecube 1.5 hardware. I know you Nintendo die hard fanboys claim to not care, but this deficien...
Nintendo made horrible decisions in virtually every aspect of the Wii U's hardware design, marketing, and the timing of game releases. The system's failure is well deserved imo.
And GPUs and processors have generations in the hardware world. The Wii U is serveral generations behind in GPU and is essentially running a triple core Wii CPU, which was in turn a beefed up Gamecube CPU. It is absolutely last-gen hardware. They probably could have released a system with these exact specs in 2009.
I'm guessing PS5 will use the same AMD APU architecture. So it'll be fully backwards compatible to PS4 and support 4k resolution. Most games will probably be PS4/PS5 compatible. It'll be more like a PC system upgrade than a new console I bet.
And judging by the APU die x-rays, the eSRAM bandaid cost them dearly. Sony just made the right bet all around on going with GDDR5.
Yet in the end they can only get close to matching PS4 for memory bandwidth. XBO still has the insurmountable graphical processing disadvantage of 18 vs 12 CUs.
If we're talking the same price range, yes it does. And it will stay relevant far longer than any current PC hardware. Who is still running a GPU from 2005/6? Even a $600 card from that era can barely run a modern game, if at all. Optimization of dedicated hardware does wonders.
And I am primarily a PC gamer. i7 with SLI-570GTXs. Personally I must have the best experience. But for someone without about $500+ a year averaged to spend on PC parts, consoles are the best opti...
In other news - Dallas Walmart receives over 100 more Wii Us returned than the store has sold.
Could definitely see the Xbox One dropping to $399 by next fall if they start to lose ground.
Wii U needs an immediate cut to $199 or it's going to continue to go nowhere.
Dammit that Nvidia Shield for $40 is a misprint. Would definitely jump on that for that price.
That really is the only offensive thing about the Vita. But it's not a big deal to get the 8GB one for like $20 and delete/redownload games. Definitely best to buy physical and only download the free PS+ games and any PSOne classics only.
Oculus Rift.
Definitely more apprehensive now. And yet more interesting in seeing how it turns out.
It doesn't even have any overly muscled grunting men. Didn't think he'd be into it.
Works about the same as the PS Camera voice commands. Haven't used it for cable TV because well, it's 2013 and Netflix exists.
This is so obviously satire that anyone who took it seriously should be embarrassed.
You're right if developers would just focus on modern PC gaming like the old days. But now almost every major game is multiplat. 360/PS3 have been the baseline for years now and it has held back developers immensely. Just get higher resolution and effects on PC. It takes significant modding to get games close to displaying the potential of PC hardware. I'm just glad there's new hardware so developers can move on. PS4/XBO games will look great and look even greater on PC.
