As far as pixel counting goes, last generation there wasn't much of a market for it. Now you can buy up a domain for cheap, post the crap, and then reel in the hits. Torrence calls these fly-by-night sites, and yeah, they are to blame, but it's also larger sites that do this that should show some consideration for the industry itself. Unfortunately, those sites can only be as considerate as the average gamer in this day and age, and that's how I like to think of them (less even). If any of th...

I love them, and I love the smell of them. That may sound weird, but it's true. There's nothing like opening a new game case, and flipping through the manual, taking in that nice new packaged smell and reading up on the game in anticipation to play it. Call it "new game purchase foreplay". I know I'm not the only one, hah!

If the use of paper is the issue, there ARE substitutes, like plastic, last time I checked paper was recyclable too! It's too bad that magazines are ...

I recall getting MANY COD-related chain letters, stuff like "pass it on and Sony will make it exclusive" and yes, I also received the Kevin Butler message (this was less than a week ago). I don't remember seeing any links, though..

As far as LIVE goes, I think it was a case of people just getting stuck with Xbox Live early on because it was the way to play online with your xbox. Then they told two friends, and they told two friends, and then you wound up with tons of people using it.

Also, established friends lists, as silly as it sounds, probably accounts for a good (I'd say 80%) of the reason why people just don't drop Live.

If it was the "in thing" to carve a chunk out of the back ...

Take all home PC's into account and see how many are connected to the net. Then take all home consoles and see how many are connected to the net. I think it's safe to say among the PC's, they are used far more often to play online than consoles. Then you can factor in LAN houses/internet cafes and then..well, Korea... and the numbers go even further in the PC's favor.

I tried this out a few months ago, I like the old school beat-em-ups so I thought I'd give it a go. I found the controls a bit awkward but the visuals were nice. It seemed really fun, the controls were my only gripe really.. Well, that and the lack of customization options but that's not really a concern when you have fun gameplay.

Not sure if you can use a controller for this, but I think a controller would make this game wayyy more enjoyable to play.

This game looks amazing in motion. One of the better looking games I've seen in a while. With that being said:

These screenshots suck. In fact, 99% of the Alan Wake shots I've seen were half bloom, half blur. It's really hard to tell how good the game looks by judging from these screenshots.

I'm patiently waiting for this game, it's going to really good by the looks of it.

Thanks for the reply on that one. Yeah the mech was mindblowing actually. It felt so perfect. I think it would be awesome if they threw one or two into the really big levels for multiplayer and see what happens.

The day I got my preorder copy I started playing it at like.. 4pm, and stayed up all night playing through it and walked into class without a second of sleep. Needless to say, all I could talk about the next day was KZ2, and how I was going back to play it on Elite right ...

What were the parts that made you wanna snap the disc? The only thing I recall being really annoying was like... The fight leading up to Radec and then Radec himself. I didn't have a clue as to what I was supposed to do while he teleported around, and I didn't know about the "stand in the corner" trick, so I got myself hacked up a lot.

Ahh.. yeah, Crysis will do that a person..

KZ2 had really nice "cinematic" "post effects" I think they called them. Like grain and that VERY nice motion blur, and the shaky camera and weight (environment effects were/are still top-notch too). It all made for a pretty experience on a console and much different than everything else (I noticed Fear 2 used grain but it didn't look very nice imo). The only other game that really wow'd me like KZ2 did was Black on ...

Awesome review. The score is perfect and the author described it well. I like the parts where the author mentions what it isn't like, and the indirect criticism they add to other games that are over hyped to no end. I think you can all guess what they were, but yeah. A year and a half later, and they think it still holds up as the best. I'd have to I agree for the most part, a lot of people missed out on KZ2 because they may have missed a prestige during the time it took to play through it an...

They're funneling more people into Battle.net where they will continue to make money off of people. I don't like it, but they are a company, what else is there to say? They're bigger now, and they don't have to care about what people want anymore.

I agree.

But their business partners in this one *probably* don't agree with you though.

Did you sit on a tack?

And the GeoW series will the be the tech demo title for the Unreal Engine from now on. It's Epic's own engine they can't just make GeoW without it. It makes as much sense as Crytek not using the Cryengine for Crysis.

It's like 90% of games that release on Xbox first.

"We can't say yes because of MS's usual smoke-and-mirrors thing, but yeah, eventually, but you didn't hear it from us."

Timed exclusivity puts developers in awkward positions, and I think it should be done away with. Either make a game exclusive and move on, or just SAY the PS3 version is coming later.

It's a good example of why passionate gamers and businessmen typically don't mix.

@tdrules Yeah, you're absolutely right, and it's really unfortunate. I had to ignore what they were doing since WC3 (WoW specifically), which is a long time to have to ignore your favorite developer. Having ties with Activision, I'm not sure if it's going to be even longer before I bother with them again, or if that extra muscle will actually help them. WoW may have helped their business, but that's...

It was a good article until the author said this:

"Of the series, Silent Hill 2 is the only true must-play."

They described so many older games in good detail that one would think they knew what they were actually talking about.

SH2, after playing the original bunch of times, felt lame. Lame, + Pyramid Head. That's the only way I can really describe it. Newcomers to the series always say that 2 is the best, I honestly do not understand it. Mayb...

I love it! Absolutely brilliant!

I'm not one to read T&C documents when installing/purchasing things, but this, this makes me want to. I guess a big sigh of relief came from the ones who had that clause nullified, huh?
