I hope the forecasts turn out to be correct. I've been pulling for VR since way back when it was almost a thing for the Sega 32X so I want it to succeed.
Yeh its realllllly dated looking but Im also still having fun with it at least.
"there’s also the fact that most vr games and even the process of playing them just don’t flow as naturally as just plopping down, grabbing a controller and going for it. There’s work and setup involved and the gameplay is usually a bit different and sometimes more complicated (even if it is cool). There’s a mental tax there."
This is exactly why my psvr1, quest and quest 2 get very little playtime from me compared to just playing regular games. It feels lazy of m...
I have missed the fable series. I hope they come through.
Who needs a sequel...
"With every generation, people expect the greatest games of all time at launch"
Well some of us remember that used to be the way it was. Not so much these days because they tend to fall back on already released games.
I love when devs get well earned revenge in a sly way.
If you haven't you should read about how the Ultima Online Devs burned cheaters' hacked properties to the ground.
Makes the 3 day pre-access seem like a quick beta to get a few extra kinks out before the full roll-out.
Either way Im enjoying the little Ive played. Been surprised and impressed with the graphics and motion capture. Fun variety of gameplay and they nailed the feel of every little thing in the world.
I just have to wrap up midnight suns and dead space so I can focus on it!
I can't help but wonder though if this will be the silver bullet Microsoft needs to win the battle for Activison.
Oh and I can't wait for the current gen only Spider-man 2. I'm banking on the graphics being some of the best ever.
I dunno about you guys but if anything makes me want to hit a link it's a paragraph of random letters numbers and the occasional word.
I didn't even know I wanted this.
I'm planning to get it on PC IF it's not one of those launches where its a buggy and poor performance mess. I have a bad feeling the pc version was neglected.
I'd prefer one not built for competitive but more like an S Class build that considers battery life one of the priorities. A luxury controller. I'll buy it.
@ asplundh
I like that Tony Hawk skateboard clobbering idea.
I've been working on finishing up Ragnarok (tonight) but I've been patiently waiting to start Callisto. Glad I did too as I saw it had a bit of a rough start on PC where I'll be playing it - but I've read its been all patched up now and I'm really looking forward to it.
I also went from worrying it was bad after the launch reviews to hopeful again from the community comments here who the game actually clicked with. Like yourself!
Nintendo also has the Italian mafia on their side and the Plumber's Union.
Silent Hill enemies are already so creepy without VR. You aren't kidding about next level shit.
Oooo it'd be great.
Yuck.
At least it's just an option. I remember way back when movie theaters introduced commercials when I saw Saving Private Ryan.
AI advances are really starting to open my eyes to us not even having scratched the surface. But with the field itself growing exponentially and stuff I'd never considered before like putting AI to work finding cures for major diseases - it's exciting but also kinda scary tbh.
More on topic - sentient AI. Creating a digital soul so to speak. Spooky in a what have we done and is it good or bad kind of way.
I'm trying to slowly get my fiance into games but this is ALL she plays lol.
