It's a recon hazard suit clearly. Half-life crossover!

Maybe it's because people who have actually played SMG2 understand that it's phenomenally fun and worthy of the excellent reviews it is getting.

I'm about 30 stars in, and this is quickly heading towards being my personal GOTY. Such raw, uninterrupted and unadulterated fun comes along so rarely anymore in today's games.

Agree completely with cranium. Despite not comparing frame by frame to the best 1080p graphics PS3 has to offer, the game is a pleasure to look at. The art direction and style are constantly exciting and beautiful.

Vhero, scrutinizers like you are clearly not the target audience for this game. IMO though Nintendo has shown that they still know what really matters in a fantastic hardcore game.

If HBO had Dexter I would be excited.

I actually liked the ending. I thought it was a pretty elegant way to end, considering there was no way they could answer all the little questions.

They did. Here's their article titled "Final Fantasy XIII PS3 sold twice as many as 360."

The elevator in my office building has a screen that shows news briefs. This article was just the headline. Definitely caught the attention of financial and investment folks.

Well, technically most of them bought ODST...

Well, DD can certainly include the ability to rent games. Itunes and other services already do this with movies.

Oh. That clears it up completely. Thanks much for the contribution.

Yeah, I have no knowledge of either coding or piracy, but this seems weird. If they've found a way to piracy-proof the code, why put an expiration date on it?

5102d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yeah Alpha, that's exactly why. The game wasn't the best RPG of all time and going multiplatform was an easy move to blame for it, even though there's really no basis for the claims.

Plus it was deprived of the magic power that makes PS3 exclusives better than all other games regardless of actual quality or content. :p

Mario Party 4, the first one on the Gamecube, was the best one by far. It was all downhill from there. Especially when they switched the "Orb" items out for "Candy"...

It sounds like his opinion is that Sony *shouldn't* up the tech inside if it is going to drive the price well above $200. Which makes some sense seeing as Nintendo has clearly found the sweet spot in handheld pricing and PSP Go appeared to overshoot it. It's not what the hardcore gamers who'll pay $250+ for a Sony handheld are crossing their fingers for though.

He's not even predicting anything. He's not saying the PSP "will" be $199, he's saying that in his opinion 199 is the smartest price point.

It's gotten really old how every Pachter article ends up a top headline just due to all the people streaming in to bash him without reading the article. If you don't want him plastered all over the site, stop making his stories heat up.

So the year-over-year declines in PS3 are caused by shortages. How is Sony not managing to produce as many PS3s as at this time last year? I just don't understand how this shortage is in its 5th month and hasn't been rectified yet.

Source? Don't mean to doubt you but I'm curious to see it. This is a pretty interesting subject IMO... maybe just because I'm a statistics nerd.

But what you "would say" is the exact opposite of what this Nielsen poll shows. I mentioned this on the flamebait article about this survey yesterday, but I found the very low percentage of people who put "a specific title" as one of their top 5 reasons for buying a PS3 really interesting. It definitely makes me think people around here overestimate the force of "system seller" titles.

It doesn't really surprise me, as in the last few years ...

What exactly do you people expect them to say? "We're aware that FFXIII will sell more on PS3 but we're happy to take what we can get?"

If a corporate executive speaks in public, it is going to exude confidence. That's the way they all act, and it shouldn't surprise anyone when the confidence doesn't always pan out.

Well, that depends. Maybe the attach rate would be 10 or higher without purchases from non-gamers dragging it down.

I don't think we have the data to draw any conclusions about whether Sony has been helped or hurt by people buying PS3 just for movies.
