"Its not appropriate for me to comment on Sonys vision"
Allow me to do it for you. They have a stronger focus on games and gamers than you.
A lot of free to play games feel like they have too much forced grinding to achieve anything. How does War Thunder compare? I like the look of it but if Im honest I have very little exposure to free to play. Whats it play like?
Honestly, Im expecting Gears, Halo, Forza, Fable, Quantum Break, Ryse and 9 others, a mixture of XBL and Kinect, but even if they look good, I still wont buy it. Not because of DRM, used games or privacy issues, but because I look at the philosophies of Sony and MS for next gen and I believe Sony will deliver a better collection of gaming experiences and are more likely to bring things to the table Ive not seen before, such as LBP, Journey, Beyond etc from this gen.
I think M...
So Bethesda, whats going to be your excuse for shoddy ports and missed dlc now then?
"If all you want is gaming you'll still pick us"
I didnt last generation, didnt this generation and wont next generation.
Sky wont be free, you'll still need a Sky set top box and subscription. The X1 just sits between your set top and tv. And you'll need Gold live account too presumably.
Enjoyed Enslaved. Thought it was a good start to a potential franchise. I think given another go at it they'd make a much better game. Characters and environment were very good for a new IP.
Not being funny, but lots of money does not equal a good game. KOTR anyone?
Its not about the money (money, money), its about quality and variety. And its BS corporate suit talk like "Quadruple A games" that puts me off. Talking rubbish. Dont talk the talk, walk the walk. That means showing games, not FMV videos of Forza or...whatever the hell Quatum Break was..
It'll be developers choice on PS4 I think, like online passes this gen. Sony wont implement a system wide function but will allow devs to charge for a pass to activate a game. Quite how this will work without being always online im not sure, unless it only applies to the online portion of a game.
So essentially we could be looking at online passes again? Sony wont block used games but publishers could implement a pass system if they wanted? Is that what we're saying?
If thats the case it'll be unfortunate, but those publishers who dont do it will garner more support than those that do. Plus its a hundred times simpler than what the X1 is doing.
Could be done with a microphone. Not exactly a kinect selling point..
@nix
If that isnt an official PS4 advert it needs to be! Brilliant.
"Kinect will be Xbox Ones gamer changer"
Thats what gamers are worried about.
Watch the internet explode when it does.
Dear Sony,
Im proud of how you've adapted over the last few years. The vision you put in place and the commitment to providing great gaming experiences. I look forward to this continuing with the PS4.
However please do not take what we have seen from your competitors and the gamers reactions to that and assume you are safe. The road is long and hard, do not rest on your laurels.
Thank you.
Can we all shut up and just wait for E3?
No. No we cant.
People have a right to voice their opinion. If E3 comes and MS do a good job people will be praising them. Will you then turn around and tell people to supress their opinions? Of course not, so just because people dont share your opinion doesnt give you the right to tell them they shouldnt express their thoughts and feelings.
$500 would be the final nail in the coffin. Its got to be as close to $300 as possible for this to even get off the ground. $500 and its dead in the water.
Xbox (bought by) None
Xbox (you're) Done
Xbox (where have the games) Gone
Xbox One't be getting my sale
That may be the case but if you screw over core gamers for a casual audience...well...just ask Nintendo how thats working out for them.
The core gamer market isnt going away. Not only that you cant underestimate how loud a voice we have and how much damage word of mouth can do to your reputation and your sales. You'd be wise not to screw us over.
I want a games console. Not a tv box. Not something I have to talk to or wave my hands to control. If thats your thing good on you. As a gaming device Sonys design and philosophy are miles ahead of MS at this point in my opinion.
