3DS needs a Pokémon MMO or proper 3D RPG but I think Nintendo have passed the time when that might have worked for them... also creating 543287509174937634080612346234 Pokémon in 3D will be the most daunting game development challenge ever.

Lost Odyssey is better than most final fantasy games. The issue is that it wasn't enough of a financial success for Micro$oft to allow another to be made (also I don't think Mistwalker are interested in contiguously working on one franchise). The problem was most likely the fact that it was on 360 and not PS3. (obviously the first "FF" aimed at the Japanese audience in a long time but on a console that very few Japanese bought?)

Unreal engine so that makes 60fps extremely unlikely on consoles (it really isn't a very good engine but soooooooooooo many people use it)

And they already have all the art assets for tessellation, and they are using Unreal which supports it now... so there really is no reason for them to not have it :( But I think they consider things like that worthy of extensive QA testing which puts management off the decision. (sure there could be some visual bugs if they don't do extensive testing on various hardware etc but we are used to that type of thing happening and can turn it off if need be)

Though everything else you say is true. The artists modelled the assets in crazy high quality and the engine already has a full toolkit allowing them to cherry pick what levels of quality they want to deploy in the game (it's unreal in this case lol - so they have NO excuse), yet they can't be assed simply clicking "awesome mode" for the PC version? Or is there some other reason like valve/ea crying over digital...
Yeah the differences lie in the video output settings, like 90% of h2h/comparison vids where they forget to change them so they are both the same (or don't on purpose to pretend one looks better).

Not that I can get a guage of performance from this vid, so the ps3 could be choppier from what people are saying (unreal engine game so yeah...). If it looks grey/dull though, then play with your TV and/or PS3 image settings (gamma/brigtness/contrast etc).
Gunplay looks like another CoD copy but that won't stop the game from being great.

Under ACTA. They would be allowed to make N4G banned, make kotaku baned, and have anyone who publicly vents their dissapointment about not being given their vita thrown in jail (theoretically).
They should all take a break to make a next gen game and release it within the first 2 years of the console's launch :P
