If they altered the digital version of Ni No Kuni to overcome this too fast load time then what is to stop a pirate from applying a similar patch to a pirated game to achieve the proper load time?
$20 tax? that would be great. Paying 12% HST tax here in Canada so that would be $48! Plus probably some stupid recycling fee.
Well I spent $950 on the PS3 (first launch phat died so bought a 160Gb slim) I would pay about $500 for the PS4 if it was decent tech and offered something unique.
Goldeneye and Mario kart. My wife (girlfriend at the time) used to swear her head of at Mario Kart. I can't believe we played it on a 13" tv!
If it really is a royalty issue why not do what they did with the xbox 1 - have a separate dongle to access blue ray movies (or in the xbox one case dvd). For games they could easily use a proprietary format to achieve the large storage like the wii u. I have had a PS3 since day one but I own only one blue ray. I would much rather stream HD than pay $25 dollars for a movie that I may or may not watch again.
If the Dreamcast had DVD it would have done much better. I bought a PS2 for $450 at launch because a stand alone DVD player was at least the same price at the time. I still have my Dreamcast but I have not hooked it up for a long time.
Maybe not every year but I get his point. It probably works out to more that $69 per year. I bought a gaming pc for BF3 after years of console only and yes it is pretty good but I still fall back to consoles for a quick gaming fix. So for me I have gotten more for my money in console games if you don't count the xbox live price.
I actually got the family account but still $99 dollars for 4 accounts when I only need 2? My son is 8 so maybe when my other son is older (4 now) it might be ok. The family account is a good deal if you have teenagers but when it is just me and my son and we only play together...? I "rented" out one account for $30 a year so that helped but it is the principle.
I know I should just boycott it but when your kid gets so much enjoyment of playing with his dad online it is h...
As my son get older and wants to play too, it is frustrating that I need a second gold account for him or else his progress does not get saved. Can't they make it possible for a buddy to play MP as long as it is played on the same xbox as my gold AND I am in the game too?
Also, if I am going to pay $69/year, why do I have to sit through ads! If it wasn't for the fact that most of the games I like are on xbox, I would stick to my PS3.
The frame rate definitely drops when playing mp with one on the pad and one on the tv. Not really bad but it is noticeable compared to just playing MP with one person on the Wii U. I have not got the hang of control using the gamepad and the pro controller still feels a bit different than I am used to on the xbox but I do really like the option of playing off tv. You can set up the game pad on the table/lap as a screen and control using the pro controller. Obviously I would rather play on my ...
I have all systems and since I have been leaning towards FPS the last few years I have mainly gamed on the xbox. Now that I am starting to get bored of those I am looking forward to the ps3 games like The Last of Us. The Wii U disappointed me for BLOPs 2 but my kids will enjoy the future first party games. I think I will get which ever system has more games I want and hold off buying the other until the price drops. I find it hard to resist new tech but I don't THINK the next from Sony or...
I have no problem being put into games with high ranked players and long as some of them are on my team too. When I am just an average player it helps to watch the tricks/pointers of higher ranks. I am more concerned that the connection is good.
No online is the really strange part. games like Mario Kart need online. If it played DVD then "maybe"
I am Canadian and own a Wii and and a Wii U (plus the PS3 and Xbox) and I still think this idea is very strange..
I find the controls a bit hard to get used to. Finding a game definitely takes longer than games on the xbox/ps3 due to the lower install base. When playing with two ppl on the same console the frame rate definitely takes a hit which is disappointing since the COD games have been really smooth in the past. I "like" it but I kinda wish I picked it up on the xbox.
I would get the battery and kick stand. The built in battery life is way too short. as for the stand I could just use the one that came with the wii u but this might be a bit more convenient.
I was somewhat surprised to see so few playing on the weekend. the only game in BLOPS 2 was team death match. there were 0 playing the other modes - even domination which usually has lots on other consoles. I could not even try ground war since there was no one else playing. I kind of wish I got it on xbox but I am sure it will improve. The two screen multi player was a selling point for me but the frame rate takes a big hit. Smooth game play is what I like about COD games.
Well since my kids play too I bought a arcade xbox for a second one and was given the third that had E74 error (got it fixed for free).
I originally used 2 for Optik tv since it was the same price as buying a cable box but with the bonus of playing games too. Now with the requirement to have Live to use it as a set top box it less economical.
Last year I got the family live plan (4 accounts for $99) I use three and let a friend use the 4th for $30/year and threw in th...
In the past I have defended Live but as time goes on it is starting to bug me. I have 3 boxes in different rooms and randomly I have to verify accounts when I switch between them. It becomes a pain. I play online a lot less than in the past so it is becoming less economical to put out the money every year just to play some Halo or COD every once and awhile. Why do I need to have gold to use netflix when I can use my tv or other devices to access it for free??
Oh, and now I need Gold ...
How do they monitor chat?? Since the days of Halo2 (and earlier of course) ppl have been saying some pretty bad stuff. That is the reason I mute everyone when I play online with my son.
So does always online mean you HAVE to be always online or only if you want?
The Wii was technically always online unless you turned the option off so it would not try to update automatically.
My 360 automatically logs on so is that not the same?
I hope it is only an feature since I don't have internet in every room.
