Play games, not sales.

Oh! but you made sure it was mentioned, in a Xbox article no less.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion.....EVERYBODY! Although you are just as entitled to disagree with it.

In the immortal words of a certain former Microsoft employee........Deal with it.

On topic, whatever the case may be, since Major Nelson declared that they couldn't just flip a switch regarding their DRM policy I am struggling to believe a word he says so every fibre o...

@GadgetGooch

Are you saying just because the casuals won't use it then it should be behind a paywall??????!!!!!

With that kind of thinking I bet you are a salesman's wet dream.

So everybody suffers because a few can't control themselves? I left school 22 years ago, I don't want to feel like I'm still there.

If you are a Sony fanboy, you would know full well that this trailer is classic Ace Combat, no more or less.

"The Cloud" is just PR jargon, what you have suggested has already been done to some degree, i.e. Tips in Demon Souls or independent AI racing in Gran Turismo 5.

My point is it's not new and consumers need to be aware that Microsoft are using it as a USP.

Well there you go ladies and gentlemen, Microsoft have made the most money so were all going to use that information to convince ourselves that the Xbox One is the only console worth buying.

I'd rather wait and see what games and features a console will offer before rabidly throwing cash at it.

Like most companies Activision will have any random Joe sat in front of a computer screen that can follow on screen prompts. That being said my personal opinion is that Activision will suddenly start paying attention when their sales numbers stop breaking records and dramatically decline.

Hardly a surprise considering the install base difference. Not newsworthy at all, marked WTF & no.

As always I will wait for user feedback instead of buying any console day one, but weighing up the known pros and cons PS4 is clearly my preferred option at this stage.

It baffles me how anybody can struggle to decide whether a new console is next generation. Whatever it is and whoever it is manufactured by it is their next generation.

I'm also confused as to why improved specs on a previous generation is deemed to be not an improvement, and what are you comparing them to? why the need for gimmicky "innovation"?

At the end of the day all any of us really want is improved specs so developers have more to play ...

Ah yes, the fat cat publishers. They're the first to complain and the last to change their ways. Best of all they rarely shoulder any blame even though they are almost the sole cause of all issues in the industry.

Nice blog, aligned with my sentiments exactly.

Let's not forget the extra cost of needing a HD TV.

3962d ago 4 agree2 disagreeView comment

There lies the problem with publishers and their incessant whinging about costs. They don't need to spend that kind of money on marketing, the gaming community is usually hyping AAA titles twelve months before release.

Microsoft are going all out with games for now, but what about two or three years down the line. Will history repeat itself and Microsoft go quiet on the development front? That's what some people are worried about.

As for mentioning Nintendo, why? They aren't mentioned in the blog, so it would be off topic.

"I'm buying the XBOX One because you keep telling everyone not to."

I can't fathom what kind of message you are trying to relay here but that sounds like it would come from the mouth of a stroppy toddler.

Your Jehovah's Witness analogy is kind of pathetic. The whole "Microsoft have tried to screw everybody" debacle is not a belief system based on myth. Near every problem people have with the Xbox One can be backed up with evide...

I can't speak for Microsoft as I don't have any experience of their Xbox marketplace, but Sony have been making huge improvements regarding pricing on the Playstation Store in the last twelve months. Still not ideal but it's going in the right direction.

First off there are the sales, during the Christmas sales alone we were seeing at times 75% off triple A games, some barely a month after release. Secondly there are continuous price drop announcements, whether th...

Let's hear your counter argument instead of throwing your rattle out of the pram.

Yes it's possible, but what has been said suggests it will be the lesser of two evils. That being said if it does turn out that publishers are implementing the same DRM policies on PS4 games then personally I won't buy either console.

The mind boggles that you would even consider such a thing, nobody in their right mind would want such destructive business models. I guarantee that if the PS4 has similar policies then they too will feel the wrath of gamers, granted the worst fanboys will still defend them as we have seen with the Xbox, but they will certainly lose a substantial portion of their userbase as will Microsoft.
