Pretty sure the guy getting flown to top of Everest is "winning" a lot more than the guy who brags about beating a video game at work.

If a TOS violates the law, yes, you can ultimately be able to violate the terms yourself.

You might not have the means to fight them, but that also doesn't mean a company can force you to be subject to anticompetitive practices.

They haven't won yet, this is just lifting the stay. It just addresses that Australian courts can hear the case about digital storefronts available in Australia, even though neither Epic or Apple are based in Aus.

But Epic's video doesn't matter. They don't deny that they did this w/full knowledge of what will happen. Hell, not only did they have the video and press releases ready, they had the lawsuits ready to file the next day.

I'm...

Everything that set up the 360 to have success was w/ Peter Moore. When Don's contributions were felt, it was the second half of the 360, and the launch of the One. A/k/a the worst period in the brand's existence.

The missteps and screwups he oversaw damn near killed the entire brand. That's a undisputed fact. But worst of all, he did the same as his predecessors and failed to look at the long term.

Timed deals, marketing deals, and motion c...

Not sure what you think OP was referring to there.

We all know Sony and others are doing it for $$$. But I personally don't give a shit about their business interests generally, particularly when it's just milking their best consumers. GOH with the recoup R&D costs nonsense.

Safe to say, Asobo could use that extra $10 more than Sony. Yet, they chose not to go that route like many others.

All of the info coming out about Windows 11 kind of shows us MS's long term plan when they began to refocus on PC gaming 5 years ago.

They'll be pushing gaming and GP specifically to every Windows user. It's smart.

Still personally need them to address the many short comings of the Win store and the Xbox app, though.

And GP will only increase in price as the market allows. Same with game prices, it'll be slow. It'...

You just showed how it is, though. Ive got GoT sitting on my shelf right now. What if I simply just want that next gen update? What are my options.

I'm going to have to pay for the full $30 package.

That's the whole issue.

My guess is Sony eventually does allow us to just upgrade our regular versions, but not because of the defenders.

1443d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Maybe you should get it together.

If you bought this game on PS4 you also get the PS5 upgrade for FREE. His comment wasn't about PS+. It's just highlighting ANOTHER next gen update that isn't trying to milk an extra $10 out of us.

WTF are you talking about?

Hivebusters is $20. Which he identified. His point was this:

"The difference here should be obvious. Unlike Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on PS5, The Coalition didn’t lock Gears 5’s juicy next-gen update inside the Hivebusters DLC: it was free to all, and Hivebusters is rightfully an optional extra."

The full next gen update is locked away here. That's the whole point to his "opinion.&q...

The "Organic" Kool Aid you've been drinking must be awful bitter.

The only one of the big 3 that could even begin to claim that they grew their gaming business in a truly organic fashion is Nintendo. Even they had some pretty cutthroat years in the 80's and 90's though.

Sony made it to the top by being ultra aggressive and ruthless in their pursuit of exclusive content. They took on Nintendo and took out Sega even though they start...

They would have gotten all of those games,, except for those Bethesda games Sony was paying for exclusivity for, right? Like Deathloop, Ghost wire, and even attempting to get Starfield.

They're in the same business. Microsoft has the bigger checkbook and finally started to use it. Best to get over it.

Not sure if there is any substance to it, but I think the talk was that they might do a small test game to get familiar with UE5 next. Think it might be a MP thing.

I still think a short SP horror game would be a good project for them before Gears 6. Think something like PT where you learn at the end that it was part of the Gears universe the whole time.

This is likely just going to be a tech demo though.

@Captain

I own a pretty decent one. Was able to get my 3070 this year.

How about you?

1447d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Same. When they did that roundtable with Phil and past Xbox heads, Don wasn't present or mentioned. Best we get are vanilla statements like "we failed to listen to our fans" during that 2013 period.

I want to hear someone truly discuss old Donny boy.

I was responding to the alt account conspirator @creating.

But if your response to the prior article and dev comments was more "Whataboutism" and NOT simply, "that sucks," then you are stuck in your feelings.

And nobody cares if you're happy about corporate acquisitions generally. Be happy for everyone involved, though.

That's just business. I hope you and anyone else one day creates a business that attracts ...

Ok?

They can take their time now.

Avowed has supposedly been in development since at least early 2018. Expected in 2023. They could push it, though.

2022 is already shaping up for the Xbox/Bethesda teams, plus 2nd party, and all of those delayed 3rd party multiplats we've been waiting for. It's looking to be one of those special years for all gamers, and it's looking pretty full for Xbox.

Lol. Yesterday's "article" was from actual small devs pissed off at their experiences with the large platform holders. It's not some big conspiracy for the little guy to bitch about how they feel they're unfairly treated. Get out of your feelings and just think about it from a non fanboy perspective.

On topic, Nixxess means more PC ports inbound. People should be happy about this acquisition unless they're the hardcore protectionist type.
