Those "Series S wins Black Friday" articles were about:

1) U.S. only
2) Just one day

So you're trying to use vgchartz's (lol) WORLDWIDE WEEK sales estimates to validate some useless argument, but you're not even comparing the same metrics.

Sorry, but this isn't the smoking gun you hoped it to be.

Yes, it is.

The "filler" are 2min little pieces of action.

Missions from fixers are divided out by difficulty to help you pace out where you are in the leveling.

All easily ignored if you just want to stick to the main quests that don't require excessive filler for leveling. They struck the balance between having too little to occupy the ADD crowd nd having too much for the OCD crowd.

I think my final cl...

Haha, nope. I found a lot to enjoy about it.

I'm sure all of you guys played it too, but it's ok that we have different opinions about games we play.

Usually they hold off announcing big stuff at TGAs, instead going for a PSX or State of Play of their own around this time. But they hopefully do it this year since I don't think we've heard about any other shows.

Factions with a TLOU2 re-release is my bet.

Agreed. It also doesn't get enough credit for for bringing us back to a good pacing in an open world.

There's plenty to keep you busy, but 40 hours can get you through the story, most big side missions, and the companion missions. There's not a huge amount of useless bloat to throw off the narrative.

Fun side note: the premier issue of OXM came with a demo disc that had no games. Just video trailers for upcoming titles and a few short interviews.

It was so disappointing for a brand new system. Adding to it, you needed that stupid DVD add on to play the videos on your actual Xbox. Felt like a massive waste of money at the time.

Fast forward 20 years and that stupid disc is probably one of the most expensive/valuable titles on the system. Last priced ...

I don't see them dropping the hybrid approach anytime soon. I do think we'll see the more powerful successor by 2023 though.

It's going to win many GOTY awards, and rightfully so. It sets many bars. From art design, voice work, and just the sheer creativity of its levels' interplay with the mental health of the "hosts,", it is something very special.

I am assuming "more resources" was just some console war dig, but I would have loved to see what they would have accomplished with deeper pockets from the start.

As it is, they made one of the best plat...

That is weird. It was discounted on multiple digital PC storefronts and physical versions for console, but not digital console versions?

Xbox will usually do their new years sale after Christmas, so I'd guess that's your best bet.

I suspect that the deal might be in place to put it on GP when the next gen patch releases. CDPR wouldn't want to say it now during the holiday shopping season. MS probably wouldn't want to add it to GP in its current console state, either.

I still don't see MS offering very much for it. Maybe if they do PC and console it'd be worth a decent size check, but I'm not so sure.

We're talking about a console game that will forever be ...

Yeah, that's pretty much the crux of any discrimination claim.

Compulsion's SP 3rd person game. Fantasy/magic setting mixed with a US deep South/Gothic vibe.

Obsidian's (Josh Sawyer) smaller game. 16th century European murder mystery.

No, no...it's perfectly normal to console war about which gaming company's internal email about Bobby Kotick came first.

Yeah, not sure of your definition of GaaS here, but just look at the top games played on any platform.

Fortnite, Apex, Warzone, Destiny, Dota, etc.

Even stuff like GTA Online, Roblox, and Minecraft are GaaS.

20 years in, and the same advice is true:

If you think that Halo is "noob friendly" (which really just translates to complaining of TTK), it means you aren't good at the game.

If I get the jump on you and you just "bounce away," it means I seriously messed up.

The guy who writes those articles was on Twitter saying as much.

Between the SS and their Gamepass/Digital focus, apparently their digital sales % is higher.

How isn't gameplay "in the service" of Forza's story?

It's ok if you haven't played it but, no, it's more than just a "driving game." Regardless, your self-imposed rules don't mean much.

BOTW isn't the example I'd use here. But let's look at other prior nominees and see if you can apply these same weird standards:

2014: Heartstone
2015: Mario Maker
2016: Overwa...
