The Canadian government recently announced that they're going to tax ALL digital products and services so I'm not surprised by this news. Not only the PS Store be subject to this new law, but so will all streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon, CBS, etc. As for being overly taxed, well, I'd rather be in that situation than having to fork over hundreds of dollars every month for healthcare. Our system may be far from perfect but I certainly wouldn't want to be living in the ...

The problem with some people wanting to be called "they" instead of "he" or "she" is that even though it can work well from a semantics point of view in English, there are languages where it simply can't be done. For example, in French, the pronoun "they" which is translated by either "ils" (masculine) or "elles" (feminine) is tricky because you have to choose a gender for it. We would have to literally invent a new word for the ...

This is definitely the best piece of video game news I've read about so far this year.

Seriously? Are you telling me that you've never read online about guys drooling over Lara Croft or Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect, or any other video game heroine/character for that matter? I'm pretty sure the term "gorgeous" has been used many times to describe vg characters. I'm not saying it's right, but that would mean there's thousands of gamers (male and female) who are high.... ;)

I sincerely hope this journalist told the guys at Hello Games how much their game has helped him. This is a great story that I'm sure the devs would love to know about, especially after working so hard to win gamers back.

I don't care if it's gone gold, I just want to play the damn thing. It's the main reason why I bought my PS4 just a couple of weeks ago.

Had this guy signed any kind of Non-disclosure Agreement with Microsoft? I seriously doubt it... Is there anywhere in the Terms of Use an Service for the Xbox One that says the buyer of the console is prohibited from publicly releasing any information about the console prior to its release? That's also doubtful. If not, then I don't see why Microsoft could have had the right to ban the guy. Hopefully it's nothing permanent, as mhunterjr just mentioned. I think the bigger culprit h...

I absolutely wasn't referring to sexism in any way. I was merely stating a fact objectively and I agree with everything you just said. :)

The bottom line is that there's still a lot of male gamers who are simply uncomfortable with the idea of playing a game with a female as the lead protagonist. The exception to this is probably Tomb Raider.

This reeks of desperation. Meanwhile, Sony is proudly advertising the PS4 on a huge billboard in a big city somewhere in the UK. :)

Mass Effect 3 says "Hi..."

Doesn't matter if you think the endings were crappy, there were still some incredibly sad moments. The deaths of some of the squadmates were real tear-jerkers.

"Tessellation, adding geometric detail to smooth edges or create more organic shapes"

This, to me, is probably the best new feature. I've always hated how curves often tend to look jagged in most games. This will go a long way to make characters look more realistic.

"There are action game fans, and survival horror game fans, who are 19 and 20, and they’ve only played games on their smartphones, and micro-transactions are to them a standard part of gaming."

I find this kind of argument ridiculous in that it sounds as though people who play games on mobile devices actually like the concept of micro-transactions. From what I've heard so far, most people are rather annoyed by it so I don't see why EA would see this initiati...

I was thinking exactly the same thing when I read the blurb about the article. Isn't it strange that he's going back to the company he was trying to get away from in the first place?... I sincerely hope they can learn to work together again because I have high hopes for Patrice's new IP. :)

Not only is this woman all kinds of awesome simply for still being a gamer at the ripe age of 85 but I love the fact that she started gaming late in life, around the same age I did. Wow... This is such an inspiring story! Hopefully Sony and the industry as a whole will take notice of this.
