We got GT7, a couple good God of War’s, Ratchet, Demons Souls, Returnal, PSVR2, Portal incoming, and amazing Spiderman games to boot. I’d say it’s worth upgrading from PS4 and there’s enough must play games to warrant a purchase. Those waiting to purchase either don’t want to part with that much money or would rather starve themselves of great games out of blind loyalty to another brand.
Portal unavailable through Sony right now too. Buy what you want when it’s available people, supply chain issues and dem scalpers will still ruin your holiday gaming plans
Rumors are 7 plus hours of battery life on the Portal, but that sounds almost too good to be true, we’ll see.
Same here in the States, $199 what’s exciting about it is playing those games that I don’t necessarily want or need to be on a big screen for, like Darkest Dungeon, Disco Elysium, Unpacking, those slower paced titles and indies. Sure, I’ll be grinding some GT7 too!
This is a must buy imo I got mine preordered through Sony, was worried about the sticks holding up and options to replace but it does have a year warranty…I can’t imagine Spider-Man or Balders Gate in my hand. New hardware for the holidays? Yes please.
Every game has Gaas model now to some extent. Street Fighter to COD to even Cities Skyline 2 and games like Snowrunner and The Sims keeping gameplay updates behind paywalls. What happened to one season pass? Now games have two to three years of post content to sell. In the case of Cities Skyline 2 it seems gameplay has taken a step back from the fully updated first game—all to be re-sold with different paint all over again. I believe they said it’s more about Gamepass on everything under the sun and that sub model, a possible future without consoles. Now they own most of the industry, crazy!

How ironic when Xbox has zero must buy games on their console this gen. I barely consider Xbox part of this generation’s gaming landscape yet. Sure, I’ll buy an Xbox when there’s a reason to, but that hasn’t happened yet.

I do think most people are happy with the visual quality of games on the Series S. Casual gamers would rather spend around $300 for a console and get their foot in the door of next gen gaming. Options are good BUT nobody can deny that M$ made it harder on devs and themselves—kind of how Sony did with the cell on the PS3.
