They need to slow the game down and make hit detection versus actual human anatomy more realistic. Like, you could get shot in the arm 10 times and not die. This type of hit detection could reinvent how shooters are played and ensure every shootout was different. Also, make helmets and gear count but actually slow you down or limit vision. After sprinting your aim wobbles as people can’t run 25 miles a hour and take 90 degree turns without slowing down. There you go Activision, make it happen...
It’s sold out so people love reading how much it sucks, takes the sting away of not having one
Tech is irrelevant as it streams, it’s not a “system” as much as a Dualsense with a screen that streams. It doesn’t need expensive parts.
It works great if you have good WiFi and keep PS5 hardwired. Also, use 5ghz channel to not burden other phone/streaming in your home. Still, it’s hard to drain 3’s in 2k or play twitch shooters/heavy action games. There is noticeable lag here and there. Something like Bulders Gate 3, indies, etc., run great and are a blast on the Portal. Haptics are incredible and Dualsense is the best way to game hands down—or on!
The thing thats underrated about the Portal is the Dualsense features. Playing Teardown on this thing and the haptics really help with immersion. I wouldn’t get this to play Spider-Man or nba2k but the slower and smaller games work just fine. It is niche but having a portable PS library for playing indies in bed…to me that’s for the masses and worth the two bills.
Are people starting to realize console gaming is in trouble? The PC company owns the rights to a huge portion of the industry and they don’t know what console gamers want and are forcing a Sub model. This is bad news for consumers and all those cheering M$ and all the acquisitions will be wondering wtf happened to the industry they love in another few years.
This was my most wanted game this year and it hasn’t disappointed. Amazing so far and I’ve only played campaign, there’s a huge mod community and mods on console! Day one and actually polished and worth it.
Meanwhile, Xbox just wants to be turned on.
Exactly, all scalpers did the same in anticipation, this is a shortage driven by scalpers same as PS5. Pre orders were available up to the day before launch, real fans got one, casuals get burned. Just wait until January and pay msrp.
Nintendo is the real competition
This game is incredible and works great on the Portal as its slower paced. Visuals and lighting have me doing a double take at times, especially reflections! Was waiting on this one and it does not disappoint.
Only portable device that can play Balders Gate 3 for more than an hour and a half
Bought Teardown deluxe and it’s amazing, a ton of content and I know I’m gonna have a blast in sandbox mode too. F this pleb rental bs, lol.
I get that and for many they probably feel the same, but for me, I’m not rebuying BG3 and other PC games to be able to play them on the deck. This has better battery life and lets me play PS5 in bed, maybe not important to many but necessity to me lol.
Build quality, screen quality, and battery life all seem to be great, I’m not going to lie, I only game on PS5 and do love Sony products so I’m glad I got mine while I could. Hopefully it arrives soon…as article said; for fans of Sony it’s like Apple products—yeah steam deck and Switch are cool, but for long time fans of Sony and those who love early adopting holiday hardware, this is a must buy imo.
So do a lot of games. Skyrim is the GOAT for player choice and character building and it’s had years of updates. Not really a fair comparison tbh.
Finally getting through that second play through of Skyrim in all its glory…priceless.
Preorder our game day one! Then they release a turd that I wasted $70 on…maybe if games were less expensive and more polished I’d buy more of them. The only thing making most games “worth it” is a steep discount. I may only play it for 10 hours and go on to something else.
If it’s sold out it’s a hot ticket item. Supply and demand and when there’s no supply…
Yeah they bought every game studio that’s played out and made amazing games like 20 years ago.
