Silent Hill: Downpour is the first AAA game from developers Vatra Games, whose only previous attempt released in 2011, Rush’n Attack: Ex-Patriot, was given a paltry 5 out of 10 from us at The Gaming Vault and one we called “a lifeless cash grab”, which lined up with what many other critics had to say about the game. Don't expect anything beyond heavily mediocre with this poor attempt.
TNS: “Nightmare fuel to say the least, check out the 10 most terrifying Silent Hill monsters, and what they symbolize.”
A breakdown of the best Silent Hill Characters that inspired and frightened gamers.
The sirens are sounding again, beckoning you back to the foggy ghost town as we rank all the Silent Hill games, from the chilling classics to the misguided missteps.
I mostly disagree with Downpour's position. Yeah, the game is not amazing by any stretch of the imagination but is much better than the HD Collection and Homecoming. The main issue is the performance, but that was mitigated by the patches, especially on the PS3. Personally, I put it a little behind Origins and The Room.
Having Restless Dreams as a different entry from Silent Hill 2 is also a choice.
silent hill 2 is definitely the best one out of those.
for me personally, the whole ritual/cult stuff was always so weird to me in all the other games.
No disrespect but I put SH2 over 1. 1 is fantastic, but 2 took it all up a level.
The review was fine because the game looks reeeeally bland, ugly, clunky and most importantly not plays like the old Silent Hill games.
Please Konami bring back Team Silent Hill...
It's because zombie games are overflooding the market. They need to switch it up. Reboot the series in a first person view such as Halo or call of duty, and add the adventure and rpg elements from Assasins creed. imagine being able to sneak through this series like snake does in all the metal gear games! :D (just the thought of it makes me sweat.)
