What do we want from motion control

So motion controls have been here for a while now, in the form of the Wii controller and other consoles attempts to emulate its success using their own formats (Playstations Lollypop and Xbox’s Kinect) with many more specialist devices coming out linked to health programs (which we will be covering in another article) in order to cash in on the new sensation of moving your arms and standing in front of your console. The PC so far has not settled on its own version of the devices but with hackers already rebuilding the Kinect’s software to use with a normal PC, it shouldn’t be too long before Microsoft decides to release the files and let desktop jockeys join the revolution.

I don't want motion control, lag-free buttons ftw!

do you realize we have been playing the same way for the last 30 years or so?

The evolution of the controller going from 1 button to as many as we have now. While I do like to game with a controller, I welcome the change that getting up and using your own actions to control the reactions on screen can bring.

At least...when all the bugs are ironed out.

I really want a proper boxing game! One that you go toe to toe with other fighters online! It'd be awesome if there was like, a hologram of the other person that you could 'fight' so you weren't just battling an image on the screen!

But, alas, I don't think motion controls are quite at the stage for that! Until then, I really don't mind! Anything that can get my aging parents off the couch is more than enough for me :).

What do I want from motion control?

I want motion control to leave Xbox and Playstation and never return.

Bigpappy5033d ago

If that happens, how will these kids that play games all day get girls to come in their bedrooms? Have a heart!

Quagmire5033d ago

I want shooting games and sword fighting games.

How many of them do we have? Hardly anything, and those that we have are shit.

Pikajew5033d ago

I want a sword fighting game that can detect every movement

Then be prepared to use a body-suite on batteries/wires fixed onto a machine where the actual feedback from the game will hold your sword movement back.

Yet another powerful device Sony gave up supporting. KZ3 move was one of the best motion controller implementation ever

just_looken254d ago

Right the ps move was awesome i have the gun thing from killzone still.

Relientk77255d ago

That's really cool. It's crazy something like that is possible with gaming controllers 1000's of miles away.

Lexreborn2254d ago

Guess that submarine should’ve used move controllers instead of logitech
