Angry Joe: Brink Review

Can Brink’s Parkour Gameplay rise above the games noticeable faults? Angry Joe has the final say on the high stylized online team-based shooter.

It really is a bad game. 5 years ago it might have been an 7.5 but the industry has moved forward. If you like playing with bots then this game is for you. It's story has nothing to do with the gameplay. It's more like Unreal Tournament but without fun gameplay.

To be honest, if you have the PC version it's great. Dedicated servers, always find a game, graphics look clean, can run at 60FPS, etc.

The issues lie with the console versions with lag and pop-in. The core gameplay is a lot of fun, especially with friends.

I disagree. And please understand that I was gaming on PCs from 1991 to 2002, even as I was slowly moving onto the Playstation brand.

There is nothing really nothing great about it or refreshing for that matter, seeing that you have seen this type of gameplay and core mechanic available on PCs for a very long time. The lag, in my opinion, has nothing to do with it being on consoles. And please I love to be corrected because that is how you learn, but net code is a different creature than lets say a game's rendering engine and is usually rather generic when it comes to a "multiplat" release. The only thing you see when it comes to the networking portion of this game that got effected by consoles, is the number of players per match due to the RAM restriction. For the pop up, it happens but not to the point where its an issue, very minimal compared to other releases.

I'm gonna rap up before this turns into too long of a read. My real issue with BRINK, was that it was really half a game for a full $60. Now I've said this many a times before, but unless Bethesda comes out and says that EVERY single piece of DLC will be free, then yes...but that is not going to happen

- Graphically, it looks like an oversaturated version of Killzone.
- The lag and pop-in of Gears.
- Design-wise, it's like Timesplitters and a bit cartoony like Team Fortress. And so is the gameplay.

No but seriously, taking Joe's word on anything is mad, he is playing it on console, most of what he said was untrue, he's an idiot and has only been playing games since Halo. He's a fucking moron. But sure if he's just judging console version some of what he said is true, but the PC version is so much fun, it's great.

Dude, Joe's the man. He's one of the most honest and thoughtful reviewers out there.

Having said that I think its a really fun game, and on 360. Bring on the disagrees but I have a lengthy friends list that agrees.

To each his own, and heres hoping the dlc and patches make the game experience better.

Solid 8/10 for me. I'm playing the PS3 version. Treat it as multiplayer only and it's a blast.
