Fable III is publisher Lionhead’s latest action-RPG, released in October of 2010. The Fable franchise has a fairly large pedigree in the gaming world, being a major franchise for the Xbox, and the brainchild of luminary Peter Molyneux. The previous games were preceded by a rather large amount of hype, mostly by creator Molyneux, touting features that wouldn’t actually make into the game. However, once the games were released they were highly praised for their engaging worlds and emphasis on decision making. The only real foible of the Fable games is their inability to live up to the hype. Does Fable III reverse the trend?
Project currently codenamed MOAT.
Imagine a game where Peter Molyneux presents an extraordinary set of ideas that players will enjoy for years to come. Now imagine that this particular game will come out because it will never exist.
One of the biggest reveals at this year's Xbox Games Showcase was the latest Fable trailer. After a lengthy stint of silence, Playground Games gave us a look at bits of the title, albeit in a trailer that was mostly made up of CGI nonsense headlined by comedian Richard Ayoade, who is playing a rather frustrated giant.
Molyneux asked about what he thought about the Fable reveal.
Fable II launched back in 2008 and remains the best the series has offered. Ahead of the series comeback, it's time to look at the classic.
Loved this game, oh and i always saved my dog at the end, hope the new Fable has a animal companion.
Fable 2 was the best inthe series. Peter waaaaaaay over promised with fable 1 and it was good but disappointing. He didn't go crazy eith hype for the second game and it was surprisingly awesome. Then he ran his mouth promoting 3 and it was the worst of the 3.
I only got to play it once 😩 I'm so tempted to buy a Xbox 360 slim but planning on getting the series x soon since I got a PS5 in February Im ready to get saints row 1&2 back, GTA 4, fable 2, but I also want to play infamous 1&2 again Sony screwed us over with the stream only for saints row 2 and other gems smh
Another one of my "Three Months Later" reviews.
I liked Fable II a lot, but Fable III just took all the things I liked about it, made them worse, and redoubled all the things I hated.
Wow. This seems really harsh. I haven't played Fable 3 yet but I was under the impression that it was a great game. Fable 2 wasn't bad...
Yeah. I got this game for Xmas..wasn't that interested in the first place but gave it a shot...It's a solid Meh title for sure. graphics are meh. gameplay meh. and who could care about the story when its boring weak lip sync animations distract you. Sorry but when you are built up that much with hype, you get let down double. Got a $20 trade in credit at gamestop for it today. sorry Peter
WoW...has this guy ever played a RPG before. Besides reviewing games that came out 3 months ago, last year in fact, this kid doesn't even seem to understand what RPG means or stands for...lol.
I agree with the graphics not being all they could be but complaining about collision detection problems in a game like this shows how little you know about the genre.
RPG's are all about " trivial and boring " game play and millions enjoy that type of time wasting activity. Side quests, leveling up, buying wardrobes, talking to random NPC's is what some people like to do...not you of course, you just like to review games 3 months later and say they are bad...O_o.
Seriously, MIKE SUcKin...find something else to do with that considerable ignorance.
BTW...change that pic...you look like a deer caught in a head light...actually, it suits you fine.
but maybe after a big price cut with so many games for 2011 we all have to pick and choose
how is this game? better than fable 2 gameplay wise?
