SWEET!!! I was gonna buy KZ3 anyway, but now I'll also get a Socom multiplayer beta!?!? Can't wait

Edit: @ Alpha

Same I just wanna test it out well before I make any decisions on it. It seems like Zipper's been trying to add some stuff back in after complaints on the forum as of lately and they're supposedly doing some sort of"Community Day" fly out for a couple of forum members to test out the game. I really hope "SUKMYTURBAN" or "REV" got an invite lol.

Alpha_Gamer5259d ago

Yeah, I`m getting KZ3 anyway too. Hopefully getting hands on time with the multiplayer will change my mind, but Socom 4 looks pretty mediocre from all the videos available right now. Doesn`t even really look like Socom anymore.

Forbidden_Darkness5259d ago

I'm unsure about SOCOM 4 at this point too, it looks pretty good from what i've seem, but a beta will inform me if i need to cancel my preorder or not. Here's to hoping it'll be amazing :)

Abash5259d ago

I was getting KZ3 anyways, but this is an awesome bonus. I cant wait to play SOCOM 4's online

Pixel_Enemy5259d ago

I will jump in to say that I was also already planning to get Killzone (pre ordered Helghast edition!)Socom is just an added bonus! I hope the beta has move support so we get to see how that plays!

grailly5259d ago

socom beta is coming for PS+ subscribers http://blog.eu.playstation....

since when wasn't it called socom 4 anymore, though?

gta28005259d ago

I love it when they do this! :) I was getting Killzone 3 day one and now I get a beta to another game I'm getting day 1. It's like scoring some poon and a second girl comes out of no where to give you double the pleasure. Niceee lol.

morganfell5259d ago

Killzone 3 Helghast Edition already paid off. Can't wait. I still run SOCOM Confrontation about once a week. And for those that haven't played it in the last 8 months or so then you haven't played it at all.

badz1495259d ago

no reason not to get it now

KingDustero5259d ago

We can't fully judge it yet. All we've seen of it is the E3 build from last year. We haven't even seen the MP yet, which has always been the focal point of Socom.

I respect your opinion though. What we've seen hasn't been super amazing, but we haven't seen hardly anything, let alone the main focus of the game.

I myself am glad to hear about this. I was going to get KZ3 anyways, but getting into the Socom 4 beta is a nice extra.

I have a bad feeling though this is just to draw attention to the two games instead of actually testing out Socom 4. If the game does come out in April, then that means it has to be done in March. So that means there isn't much time for the devs to get feedback from the beta and make changes. Maybe they'll just do a launch day patch for any changes that are made from feedback from the beta.

This might make me get the game. The MAG beta made me get it and I had hundreds of hours of mostly fun out of it. Can't wait to get back on SVER though. I now see why Valor and Raven lose most of the time.

jwatt5259d ago

I'm actually pretty excited for Socom believe it or not but
Confrontation was one of my most played ps3 shooters online. The whole community and atmosphere was nice! Socom 4 might not be the prettiest game but the physics in the environments could go toe to toe against any game.

Pixel_Enemy5259d ago

Confrontation actually has nothing to do with this one I am afraid. Slant 6 did that one and Zipper is doing this one. I am glad actually because Confrontation was so broken at launch and for months after

ilikestuff5259d ago

agreed, i loved confrontation, i met alot of cool people. socom 4 will be mine

creatchee5259d ago

Honestly, this is probably going to make me get KZ3. I didn't really care for KZ2 after the first month. It wasn't a bad game or anything - it just wasn't my cup of tea. But I've been playing SOCOM since the first installment and am really excited now that Zipper has taken the reigns back. I do wish that this was a preorder thing (like it was for Confrontation), but I have no problem paying 59 bucks for a beta of my favorite series ever and getting a free game with it! :)

Forbidden_Darkness5259d ago (Edited 5259d ago )

I love your logic lol

It just goes to show how hardcore SOCOM is ;)

Forbidden_Darkness5259d ago (Edited 5259d ago )

Stupid double post...!

Motorola5259d ago

But when I get the game I wont know what to play...The BETA for maybe the best tactical TPS out there or KZ3...Dammit

Focker4205259d ago

Awesome, I've already got Killzone 3 paid in full.

Klipz-Wish5259d ago

Was interested in both games from the start AMPED!!

lil Titan5259d ago

Christmas came real early this year

Commander_TK5259d ago

Like no1 was gonna buy KZ3 anyway...

Hooray!!

*Damnit! I dont want that 'Socom 4, Early Acces' dogtog on my game bozart*

Alpha_Gamer5259d ago

Lol, the PS3 game arts are already completely ruined with that hideous bright blue MOVE bubble in the top right, why not throw some more junk on there?

XxDarkGamerxX5259d ago

I actually like that Blue bubble in the top right.

velocitygamer5259d ago

Better and cleaner than this:

http://media.photobucket.co...

The move bubble looks more slicker, rather than a bubble in the middle of nowhere.

Nitrowolf25259d ago (Edited 5259d ago )

it doesn't bother me that much, i kind of wish they would shave it off a bit the make it align with the PS3 Frame but its nothing huge.

I do agree with the Socom 4 tags. I know it's very informative, but why can't they just put it on the plastic rap instead. I really hate seeing stuff like that on my boxes, especiailly when its an awesome one. Also hate boxed with reviewer score labeled all over the front.

well it's just a box cover not that it should take away from the game.

@Whoop
thats an old picture, these are new ones. I wish they would use that one instead. Looks so much cleaner.

OhReginald5259d ago

I hope that dog tag isn't permanent.

M-Easy5259d ago

That box art doesn't have enough logos. They could easily fit like 12 more there.

Whoooop5259d ago

I don't need an incentive to buy KZ3, but I won't complain.

SuperbVillain5259d ago

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! !!! KILLZONE,AND SOCOM......KILLCOM NUFF SAID!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

There's too many games to choose from

No Metal geat solid 1,2,3,4?
No Resident evil?
No Silent hill?
No Midnight club 3?
No NfS Underground 2?
No Final Fantasy?
No Burnout 3?
No Dragon quest 8?
No Days gone?
No Ace combat?
No Tekken/Soul calibur?......
just from the top of my head

PS1 era was full of great RPGs, PS2 was racing generation i would pick top 200 and even that would be just a fraction.

FinalFantasyFanatic200d ago

30 is way too low over the entire history of Playstation, I just wouldn't be able to narrow it down that much, I would pick 100 at least.

Storm23200d ago

Yeah...really odd list. I get that it is personal preference and I love most of the games listed, but my list would definitely be different. I agree though, it would be incredibly difficult to come up with just 30.

lockedongamer1200d ago (Edited 200d ago )

I only picked first-party titles. Otherwise, I agree!

EDIT: Except for Days Gone, I don't get the love for it but you do you!

Chocoburger190d ago

I didn't like Days Gone either, it doesn't deserve to be on any best of list.

Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.

1Victor766d ago

Can’t wait for their next franchise

SullysCigar766d ago

Same. They nailed it with Horizon. The trouble is I also want a new Killzone! Can't I just have it all?!

jznrpg765d ago

I’m with you I want Horizon 3 , Killzone and new IPs

badz149765d ago

I have yet to play Burning Shores as I just started Forbidden West (bought at launch, just unwrapped last weekend LOL) and playing on PS5.

man...I still can't believe the graphics especially now I'm playing it on my LG OLED. that graphics and with stable performance backing it up, GG really is the master of their craft!

Vengeance1138766d ago

32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III

Shane Kim766d ago

That's kind of a huge drop though. It's only been two games.

VersusDMC766d ago

One year after realease HZD sold 7.6 million.

https://www.noobfeed.com/ne...

So not a drop off.

Unless you're saying a HFW should have sold as much now as HZD sold in 5 years?

Vengeance1138766d ago

It's been 3 games, this includes Call of the Mountain. Also no, its a great improvement over HZD.

solideagle766d ago

lol you are comparing:

HZD: 28 February 2017 - May 2023 (6 years+)

HFW: 18 February 2022 - May 2023 (1 year+)

We will see if it surpass original number.

Phoenix76766d ago

@shane, 2 full main games, 2 DLC add ons, 1 VR spin off game, oh and a an official LEGO set.
Not too bad for an ip that's only been on market for 6 years

REDGUM765d ago

Wow, very impressive. I didn't know the numbers were so high for Forbidden West. Still playing through it myself

thesoftware730766d ago (Edited 766d ago )

Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.

I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.

blacktiger765d ago

thank you fps lover, I'm with you

talocaca766d ago

Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.

The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.

OzzY-waZZy766d ago (Edited 766d ago )

Kinda wish they move on from Horizon tbh.

lukasmain766d ago

They are probably working on mutiple projects. One of them is Horizon 3, but another is a multiplaer game and probably somehting else.

Imalwaysright766d ago

There were rumours that they were working on a Socom reboot.

Killzone 3 is playable with mouse & keyboard on PC via RPCS3 & KAMI

DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."

Still looks secure 2 gens later... one of my favorite ps3 moments. With 3D and move the game is on another level

MadLad1517d ago

PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.

What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?

If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.

Applejack1517d ago

I disagree. The main draw for consoles has always be the simplicity of just putting the disc in / downloading it and playing without worrying about anything else. The average person just wouldn’t want to deal with emulation even though it’s very important for preservation.

Terry_B1517d ago

Even emulators are super simple to use.

jukins1517d ago

Youre getting flak because people on here thibk of themselves as pc wizards. But honestly most poeple try and go get emulators and romz they end up with malware.. yes theyre "easy" if you know the basics but alot of people dont. That said the fact that its taken nearly 20 years to get a sustantially better experience for ps3 games than on its native system shows the complexity of getting bc to work. Sony, if they have any intention, should just invest in a vastly better psnow experience.

1517d ago
Vegamyster1517d ago

jukins

Most people who emulate don't get malware, you'd have to be going to some weird sites for that to happen, heck years ago people were getting sketchier ad's resulting in malware warning on this site if you didn't have a ad-blocker lol.

SinkingSage1517d ago

Can't get malware if you legally dump your own games, which you should.

Rachel_Alucard1516d ago (Edited 1516d ago )

That's fine if that's the main draw, but it doesn't make it a better experience, just a preference. Having the freedom to do the things you can do on PC is what the appeal of PC is. Buying a game on PC means you never have to worry about the console makers just deciding the next hardware shouldn't support the generation anymore, which means everything you bought is stuck on that hardware instead of moving up with everything else. Nintendo uses this tactic to keep reselling the same games over and over at inflated prices. Sony cut all previous gens off the PS4 and sold it back to people in a poor attempt with PSnow. While the PS5 supports PS4 games, that may not be the case in the next gen after this. No to mention shutting off all the previous stores and updates completely. Even MS stopped making new BC titles at some point, so now there's a big list with 17 pages of titles that are not playable on Xbone and are just trapped on older gen. That's not a problem on PC, the reverse happens where you only have to worry if your hardware can play the newest releases at ultra with no issue.

AzubuFrost1517d ago

Shhh don't say that aloud! You're going to trigger a lot of console infidels here.

Shane Kim1517d ago

I rather play it when it's available then wait 10 years.

MadLad1516d ago

Did you purposely miss the entire point of my post?

Inverno1517d ago

Well that's the beauty of still owning a retro console tho. Those who usually complain about emulation are just being blindly loyal to a company. Emulation is great for many reason, but if I still owned the console then I disagree nothing beats plugging it back in and going down a nostalgia trip

The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.

Magatsuhi1517d ago

Been playing mgo on pc with mouse. It's not perfect but I can make it work.

Binarycode1516d ago

2 is the better game.

A Remake would be good. 60fps 2-4k

Omar3li1516d ago

60fps is peasant for FPS games now
