Guitar Hero Warriors Of Rock PS3 Review - NowGamer

NowGamer reviews Guitar Hero Warriors Of Rock on PS3 - "While our guitar Shortly before E3, Neversoft told us that as the market for its music games has shrunk, it has become more hardcore, with the last few iterations of Guitar Hero mostly being played on Hard and Expert difficulty. For this reason, the plan was to go back to the series’ roots with Warriors Of Rock, aiming squarely at hardcore GH players and hardcore rock fans. This all put a big smile on our face because, basically, that’s us."

Yup. The GH metallica + GH5 import gives me hundreds of songs for a much cheaper price than Rock Band's DLC would cost to get an equal quatity of songs. Plus GH has always been more about the challenge rather than casual party gaming. GH6 has much more hard rock and heavy metal, which is much more fun to play than pop rock,

SexyPrawns5327d ago

When I get RB3, I'll LITERALLY have over 2,000 songs on my playlist.

What are you talking about?

Dsnyder5327d ago

I dont have any rock band DLC. This would cost me much more to get then getting GH6 and imorting 4 and 5. I prefer GH's import method much more because it is a better bargain.

You get about 60 songs for 5 bucks while having that many RB DLC would cost 120$ (1 song costs 2.00). Even when looking at buying 60 dollar games you still get a better deal then buying it as DLC.

Dont forget that when you buy rb2 you get like 20 free quality tracks in a dlc .

Your math is imo off between dlc packs , dlc albums , track pack stand alone expansion , and various discount .. luke right now -50% to celebrate rock band 3's release .

I dont really agree about the songs anyway . GH4 was even more divers and pop than any rb , and gh5 continued that trend . But then again to each their own

JackBNimble5327d ago (Edited 5327d ago )

So you import GH4,5 and 6 and GH Metallica ?

Did you buy these games , or did you just steal them? My point obviously is you still payed for your music, and if I'm not misstaken GH dlc is just as much money as RB.

BTW , all RB games (excluding The beatles) can be imported, and RB has most genres of music not just pop.... just saying.

Redempteur5327d ago

@Dsnyder

i don't get you RB has teh most song list on the market ( even more with the rock band network ) .. you can't do more diverse than them .also they have the actual NOTES for you to play because according to this article even hard mode in GH has become a joke ..

akiraburn5327d ago

Dsynder, I don't think that's completely accurate. For $5 you can get the unlock key in Rock Band, which allows you to import all the songs from Rock Band 1 into Rock Band 2, and the same will be capable for Rock Band 3. Any DLC tracks you've gotten also transfer over fine. I used to enjoy the GH franchise, but over the iterations I started noticing a decrease in quality. I stopped enjoying it entirely when World Tour was released, and the fact that none of the GH3 songs or downloaded songs for GH3 could be transferred was definitely a real disappointment as well. Not to mention that my World Tour guitar controller's strum bar broke within a month of using it, and considering we really don't play hard on the controllers, and Activision and sthe store we bought it from weren't willing to help us out, I was very frustrated with things.

In my outside life, play actual death and black metal (not the cheesy deathcore or metalcore junk), and I graduated with my degree in audio engineering. Between myself and a few friends, we noticed the GH tracks seemed to be much lower quality overall. That might just have to do with how the audio was encoded, but it doesn't sound good to any of us. In addition, I found that Rock Band has a much larger and overall better selection of tracks in all genres, especially considering the Rock Band Network is now functional on both PS3 and Xbox. And with the current sale on the PSN, you can get a bunch of RB track packs for real cheap, including Pantera's entire album of The Great Southern Trendkill for half off.

I know and respect that you are entitled to your own opinion on this, but I figured I would give you some things to think about and maybe check out. And like I said, I used to be a GH fan myself, but between the issues I have had, and my personal growing desire to not support anything Activision related, that was enough for me to change games. With all the upcoming features in Rock Band 3, I think it might be worth really looking into.

Dsnyder- you paid 59.99 for the 39 importable metallica tracks. i did too and i'm getting both games and have tons of DLC. but they are pretty much exactly equal in cost for adding tracks, whether it be importing disk content or DLC. i like both games but being extremely objective, rock band 3 has almost 3 times the amount of music guitar hero has. rock band now lets you do things GH can't. 3 part harmony for singing, note for note guitar, drums and keyboards. far more realistic. with GH, i like the graphics MUCH better. i like the note highways, the notes themselves and the power-up method. i like the game challenges. but the new rock band destroys all music games to date. a real guitar the can be amped as you play along, plus a training mode. that is insane. the ability to use a real keyboard with midi and play the keyboards note for note!! even the drums get a jump past GH. it was 5 on RB, 6 on GH. now in pro mode it's 6 on GH,9 on RB3.also there is plenty of hard metal on RB. probably not as much as GH. but when i have "karaoke" parties most of the time we use RB.

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Me: Eleven Guitar Heroes Shredding

"Going back a few console generations, gaming experienced a surge of rhythm-based games. From shredding out in Guitar Hero to hitting the floor in Dance Central, game started crossing the line between general, real world practices and digital entertainment. Like most other genres, rhythm games became saturated and dipped off in popularity." --PlayStation Enthusiast

Stop these articles, christmas is over. At the least come up with a different title, I mean its January 4 already.

Razputin3399d ago

It's already January 4th. Hence the title on the 11th day of Christmas.

It's a series of titles referencing the days after the 25th which are the 12 days of Christmas.

Ready to Become a ‘Guitar Hero’ in Your Own ‘Rock Band’

Remember a few years ago, when all the cool kids were hooked to the ‘Guitar Hero’ and ‘Rock Band’ games. It gave a chance for all the wannabe rockstars to do some of their favorite posing without an air guitar. Admittedly, it was a fun experience that revived the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll for a new generation.
