After hands on with both games, Mucu from GamesOnSmash.com explains why the graphics of Killzone 3 and MotorStorm: Apocalypse take a hit when displayed in 3D/ Are we willing to sacrifice crisp graphics for supposed immersion?
The Amsterdam-based studio reflects on its humble beginnings, beloved franchises, and growth through the years.
Up there with the top tier in the industry. Love Guerrilla Games - Horizon Burning Shores is simply STUNNING.
32.7M sales in the Horizon franchise! With 8.4M coming from Forbidden West alone! Truly a hugely successful game and franchise as a whole. Looking forward to Horizon III
Yooo, when I first saw that Killzone 1 footage at E3, my friends my brothers and I were like, Holy shit! When it came out, it didn't look exactly like it, but we sunk so many hours into 1 & 2.
I even liked Killzone: SF, it was a spectacle to look at, and even today it looks good. I hope they make a new one. Can you imagine how that will look, and they can get some modern FPS pointers from Bungie.
Such a wonderful studio. They deserve all their success.
The Decima Engine is absolute 🔥 I'm just mad they have abandoned Killzone.
Digital Foundry : Evolution Studios' Motorstorm is one of the first, finest and most fondly remembered of launch titles for PlayStation 3. It's a release designed to answer the question posed by each new console generation: what makes a game 'next-gen'? With its robust physics engine and massive tracks, Motorstorm serves up a bold affirmative answer to this question, delivering an experience that could never have existed on prior console hardware. At the same time, the path to release was fraught with challenges that almost serve as a microcosm of the PlayStation 3 release situation itself. It was a success, however, with a trilogy of PS3 releases, plus PSP, Vita and even PS2 off-shoots.
After Driveclub and Onrush, the dev team will now contribute to and assist with the development of the upcoming NFS.
Never really got into it myself I remember getting it with ps3 and being a bit underwhelmed I preferred the RC version they did for vita 🙌🏻🤣
DSOGaming writes: "While Sony does not plan to release Killzone 3 on the PC, Yahfz shared a video that gives us a glimpse at what such a PC version could look like."
PC almost always ends up the best place to play games, even if it takes a while.
What would you rather play decades down the line? A game at a fixed resolution and frame, considering you have a working disc, and the hardware?
Or run it on an emulator that can update the experience all around, and let you use whatever control input you prefer?
If you insist on the former, it's really only for the sake of nostalgia.
The RPCS3 devs are doing great work. And Kami works nicely with it too it seems.
Very neat.
3D + Games + PC = No Deteriorated Graphics
OMG!! NO WAY! Really? Who didn't know this? I for one don't mind taking a graphical hit in order to play in 3d. Game play comes before graphics and PS3 gives us both choices.
Not just as a gamer, but as a human being, I wish this 3D fad would end already. Sadly I think it's going to take another year or two for the kids to get over it. In the meantime I say just tough it out
When I was watching the live stream for Sony's E3 conference, I thought the KZ3 footage looked a bit fuzzy, maybe the game does take a hit when 3D is enabled. Maybe, maybe not. I don't know, but what do I care when I'm gonna be playing it in 2D anyway. It's gonna be a great experience either way so whatever.
I'm just glad Sony is really serious about implementing 3D in their big franchises.
As long as 300 dollar console games have great graphics, people dont care about greater graphics to spend 1000!
Thats the point that pc gamers dont understand! Who wants the best of the best graphics? I dont... Console games are okay with me!
